Dvd player wont open - Panasonic DVD-RV26 DVD Player

There is a small belt that has become worn or has broken. Open the DVD palyer, press the open key push on the silver disc, the tray will open, . On the tray pul the two tabs up gently, remove tray. Belt is located there

On my DVD player, the cover on the disk tray was setting too high. I removed the cover, cleaned the glue off and reset it. This time it was flush with the tray. It now opens and closes just fine.
Another possible solution is to unplug and replug-in player. You still may have to do this after using my first solution.
Note: My DVD player also starts showing "hello"

try unplugging it from the wall to reset everything

there might be a possibility that as soon as the tray closed the dvd shifted inside the machine. the dvd is stuck yes which means that the tray wont open because the dvd is blocking the gear turning. if so you are going to have to take it to your Dealership to open up the player and remove the disk. you can try it yourself but it's not recommended. tray gears will have to be tested to see if the tray will open once the disk is out though

turn off unplug ...turn upside down...this may dislodge it disk...gently shake...this may take a few tries

the door will not open at first it would open and close real quick, now it will not open and then it quits too, thanks jon

unplug it and try it again, if that doesn't work see if theres a pin hole where you can push a paper clip in by the tray area.

that is normal for laser to do that.

Look on the bottom of your player. Between the two front feet you should see a narrow slot that is about 1 1/2" long (it should say "emergency hole". Shine a light into the slot, you should see a black pin about as big around as a pencil lead. Carefully push this pin in the direction of the arrow. It should release the drawer and allow you to open it.
