Question about Ricoh Caplio R5 Digital Camera

Ricoh R5 - pix washed out and out of focus

Hiya

I've just bought this camera, but upon taking photos they are all out of focus. In addition if I use the flash, 1 in every 2 photo's will be entirely overexposed and washed out.

The quality is also terrible - looks like a 1 or 2 MPixel camera.

I don't enderstand. I've messed baout with a few settings including the quality, 'sharp' and ISO speed but nothing is helping.

I have now reset it to factory so that everything is on Auto - but still no joy.
Thanks

My R5 is the same, seem to get a decent shot using the macro but completely rubbish otherwise, very blurred and also the same problem with the flash washing out the pics. I got so fed up I stuck it in a drawer and reverted to my digital slr, but now I'd really like to get it working, its nearly £200 worth of brand new hardly used camera sat in the drawer!! I have tried the firmware upgrade but thats made no difference at all, so am at a loss. Have emailed ricoh, but if anyone has a solution would be very happy.

A whole batch of R5s were released with a focus problem. You should be able to fix it with the latest firmware from the Ricoh site.

I borrowed a Caplio R5 camera, have taken some super pics, but couldn't download onto computer. So took the memory stick to Boots and their developer couldn't find the photos. Put the memory stick...

The Photo's are currently stored on the cameras internal memory, you'll need to transfer them to the card using the camera's menu options.

Failing that, plug the camera into your PC and switch on, a box should appear asking you which programme would you like to access the new device with.

Select the folder option, then click on and open any folders therein, one will be the camera memory the other the card memory.

Just bought a micro digital camera put new battery in but camera dosnt go on cant take pics

Assume that thecamera were new, and the batteries were new also, the device should be powered on to achive the first photo shoots. Locate the cameras power on buttons either situated on the top of the device or at sides. Usually a press button should allow for the camera to be in functioning mode ready for the first photo shoot. The camera poower button may also be the flash shoot button unless additions buttons were observable.

The image taken by my Ricoh Caplio R5 has horizontal lines across it. This happened after I deleted the previous images ready to start afresh. I then bought a new SD card to see if that resolved the...

Hi

The fact that the lines started appearing when you deleted images from the Ricoh Caplio R5 is probably coincidental.

It sound as if the problem is a faulty image sensor (sometimes incorrectly called the CCD or CMOS sensor, depending on what type).

If it's under warranty, contact Ricoh and have them repair it.

My fuji fine pix z1's flash doesnt work. i dont even remember it worked ever. the pics are blurred most of the time

1) Check you're settings are all on "Auto".
2) The button you press to take the photo is a 2 stage button. Press half way, if you're gentle you should feel a slight resistance. Pause at this stage, just for a moment to allow your camera to focus properly. Then proceed with the action until photo is taken.
3) It takes a little practice to get used to it, but with any luck you photo's should be crisp.

4) If this doesn't work and you bought it less than a year ago, take it back to the shop and comlain.
