To change battery

If you don't have the proper tools I recommend that you not do this yourself. You could scratch the case or damage the movement if you don't know what you're doing. If it's a water resistant watch the gasket also needs to be replaced once it is opened. DO NOT reuse a gasket! For about $8 any watch or jewelry2_bing.gif store can change the battery and renew the gasket for you.

How can I change the battery in my Casio Oceanus Oc-501? What battery does it take please and do I need to reseal the back?

I dont recommend anyone change their own battery unless they have the proper tools to open and close it! If the case back unscrews then you need a case wrench...if it pops off with a knife then you will need a case press to close it or else risk breaking the crystal! Most require equal pressure around the entire edge of the case back! Save yourself time and frustration and possible damage and take it to a reputable watch repair shop!

My Oceanus watch model no. 4749 stays 1/2 hr slow. I manually reset it to the correct time and it resets itself to 1/2 hr slow. I have it set at central time

You can get manual information from the Oceanus web site (NOT casio strangely enough!).

Insert "www.oceanus-us.com/" into your search engine

Select "support", then "Manual information"

Enter your model number and download the information. There are instructions on choice of home city and further adjustments if it still is not correct after initial setting up.

Minut indicator is out of sync. Reset sets cursor

1. Look in the back of your watch, it will show the model number (in a square on top of "CASIO")
2. Look at this web page for the right manual:http://www.oceanus-us.com/index.php?fuseaction=support.content&CNT_ID=14884814-F2AB-46E6-93DC-5E678BD11926
3. Look at the section "Adjusting the Home Positions" - that is where the answer is.

Changing the band on my casio oceanus 500 wristwatch

If its an OC500, I just figured it out. There are two sides of the pin visible. One has a dimple and one is completely smooth. Use a small phillips or a punch that is the same diameter as the pin and push on the side with the dimple. The pin pushs in only about 1/4 inch and the smooth side protrudes from the other end. Pull or pry on the smooth end to extract it. The pin is actually 2 parts so be careful not to lose the dimple side piece.
