Read the manual and find out the maximum size jumpdrive you can use, and put your music on jumpdrives rather than burning up cd's. i use it in my car. its awesome if your mp3's are tagged with artist/title

Try another device in that port just to make sure the device is working correctly. Try the headsets in another port just to make sure it isnt a bad port.
If the device works in another port then you have a bad port even though the computer sees it.
If the device does not work in another port and a different device works in the same port then you headphones are bad.
Usually If the car has an existing audio jack port you should be able to use an audio cord that has a male audio jack on both ends and it should work. Just make sure your on the right output selection on the car stereo. (Such as aux, cd, tuner,)
There may be an adapter you can use to have a USB as input method, but you might have to change audio players completely. I would as an audio shop to be sure.
Open preferences. Go to Control Surface tab.
Click Add. Select M-Audio as manufacturer.
Choose Axiom 49
Make sure the ports are set right.
Controls IN Port = Axiom 49 Hypercontrol In
Keyboard Port = Axiom 49 USB A In
Controls OUT Port = Axiom 49 Hypercontrol Out
if it hasn't detected yet then restart Reason.
Make sure the power on the Axiom is on.
If you still have issues the USB port on the Axiom could be bad.
Is your usb port working? Try another usb port. Are you sure the speakers work? If so, try the speakers on another computer and see if they work.
Look at your Audio and Sound Properties in the control panel to make sure the volume is turned up and not on mute. Click Start/Control Panel or Start/Settings/Control Panel and look for Audio or Sound. You can also get to the Audio and Sound Properties by clicking the megaphone at the bottom right near the time.
Make sure you can see the small LED light on the speakers. If I remember correctly, those speakers are USB powered, and need to be plugged into the USB port for power, and the green audio output port for sound signal. If they are plugged in, and you cannot turn them on, you have broken speakers. If you CAN turn them on, then ensure that the audio cable is plugged into the green audio output jack (sometimes it has a headphone icon by it) and make sure your computer has not muted the audio.
How long have you had this problem, are you sure the usb is an input and not a "usb charge". In some cases the "usb is a charge port, and the mini jack is the input for sound. Also how new is th Ipod?
