Question about Pentax Optio S50 Digital Camera

Connecting the Pentax S50 to computer

Greetings -

Calling from Johannesburg .. Quite some time ago
when I connected to my computer using the USB
connection-cord, I was able to see the folder and
images immediately reflected on Winows Explorer.

Now it does not seem to sho anything .. I have installed
the ACDsee & Photo Slate software, but they do not
seem to immediately show me the images from the
camera.

I am obviously leaving out something very basic &
simple .. so apologies if this is something obvious ..

Would be most grateful for assistance ..

Many thanks,

Michael

Many thanks for your lightning-fast help .. From the DEPTHS of my ignorance & stupidity, I plugged the USB cord in to the front

USB plugs (which I forgot were not connected through) .. I

plugged in to the back and BINGO .. all OK ..

But many thanks indeed for the recommendation of Picasa2 which

    certainly does seem terrific ..

What a terrific facility .. I'll bookmark straight away ..

I have the same problem, although I don't have front and back USB ports on my laptops, just one on the left side and one on the right side. Neither works! And it did before, just a couple of months ago when I transfered my summer shots into the pc - no problems, it all just ran automatically. Now it seems the pc can't detect the camera when it's connected.

Please help someone, I need to get my photos into my pc!

    Thx, Susanne

Hi there

there doesnt seem any problem i what youve explained. its just that your saying that it doesnt show any images as fast like before.

i suggest that you use another software which is easier to use and actually is particular to pictures and videos. whenever you connect your cam to the computer, this software will identify the pics inside your cam.

you can download Picasa2 @ filehippo.com which is under the Imaging Tab.

hope this helps you.

Transferring pictures from camera to computer

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.
