Having a problem with the ON/OFF button on my Remote for Panasonic TH-37PE50B. I have to press very hard and wiggle it for it to 'catch' . Otherwise it works fine. Is it OK just to unscrew and open? I was worried all the keys might fall out!
Here's what I did that worked pretty well without any damage to the remote (Panasonic N2QAYB000221)... Once you take out the screws the top piece should be a little loose near the front of the remote. Take a flat head screwdriver and wegde it between the top and bottom half and work your way to the rear of the remote; as you move backwards, you should release the brackets. Once you have released one side of the remote, you should be able to work the other side free. Hope this helps!
I just got mine open, took out the batteries and two small screws in battery compartment. there are 4 snap brackets on each side. I stared at the bottom with a sharp knife and made quite a few scratches finished it with a butter knife. Tricky but manage without breaking the plastic lugs. Cleaned the circuit board with acetone, snapped back together and hey ho... hopefully it will work, until the next covering of hot chocolate
Just opened one. Just like you said, it has to snap. On this remote (Panasonic n2qayb ...) you have to find a way to pry the botten part away from the top. It is next to impossible to do without scratching the sides, so expect some damage. I broke two (actually one and a half) of the holding 'brackets". It snapped back ok and it's pretty solid again. Did a Panasonic DECT phone some weeks ago, that was a breeze compared to this. (dropped it in the toilet, and it was quite waterproof I must say). Will put some pictures up on a blog, I was really hoping for some to help me.
