Question about Xerox Phaser 6110 Laser Printer
My Xerox Phaser has had status light turned to red for last few weeks - but the printer still seems to work OK - yesterday got a toner low message also - replaced the toner, but the red light is still on. The guide says I should contact a service representative - do you know what the problem is or who I should contact to this resolved ?
Lemmor, without being rude it sounds like you know nothing about this machine at all.
The printer version of this machine has 5 lights in total. 4 of them refer to the toner carts (flashing means toner low, on solid means run out) the other light (the status light) can mean many things. The most common problem people overlook with red status light is that the waste toner bottle is full and needs replacing. It can mean lots of other things depending what colour it is and whether it is flashing or not. These can all be found in the user manual, or if the status monitor has been installed (usb connection) it should show on the PC screen. With a network install, you can browse to the machine using it's IP address to see the error message.

I had the same problem. My solution was: Pull out your toners and reinstall them, make sure they are pushed in all the way.

The red light is a warning that a part inside the printer is wearing off or nearly to be replaced with a new one... The most common of all is called the drum, it is replaced to achieve a clear print-outs, that can be the heater, or some rollers. It is better to have the printer checked thru a printer repair shop to determine that part....

The blinking toner cartridge is low. Order a new toner cartridge. You can temporarily improve print quality by redistributing the toner. See "Redistributing Toner" on page 5.2
