Question about Mitsubishi HD-6000 DTV Receiver / Video Recorder

Mitsubishi WD65733 I hate this TV ~ I've had nothing but problems. Service company can't get it fixed. It turns off by itself all the time ~ red ligt comes on. You can reset, it will then turn back on ~ takes a while for the picture to show. Then it might last a day, or turn off again in 5 minutes. The service guy told me to push the menu and input at the same time, to get service code, but nothing happens. Can you help please. boones11@cox.net Thank you..

I have this TV and the same thing happens to me as well. Only a month after I purchased it, it started it. Once it turns off with the red status light blinking, press and hold the two buttons for about 10 seconds. You'll then see the green light start flashing. It will flash two sequences. Mine always gives me a code 37.

One weekend, I couldn't get it to turn on for two days, and I was so upset since I couldn't get any service people on the phone. When I finally found a service company that would return my call, the 5th company I called from Mitsubishi's authorized service techs in the area, they scheduled a guy to come out. Eventually, before he came out, I got it to come on and stay on after countless resets. And of course, once he came out to the house we could not replicate the problem.

Since then, (about 4 months ago) it's worked perfectly until just last week it did it again. This time, I only had to reset it about a dozen times before it worked and has worked consistently since then.

It's really frustrating that the problem is inconsistent, and for some reason Mitsubishi claims to never have experienced it before. I do have the extended warranty, and at this rate, I'm assuming they eventually do a full replacement after the 3 service call "lemon" clause.

    Update after 5 years: Eventually, the extended warranty service replaced the entire TV. I was constantly requiring service techs to come out, and eventually the tech was able to get someone on the phone at the warranty office and they finally agreed it was better to replace. (On this service call, it was to replace the DLP chip itself.) Against my better judgement, I purchased another Mitsubishi (WD65738) which is basically the same model just with 3D functionality. I've had it for a couple years now and so far only had it do the reset thing a couple times. Otherwise, it's worked great. Still bought an extended warranty just in case, but this is my last Mitsubishi. I love DLP technology, but it's time to move on.

I have an 82" Mitsubishi DLP tv. I have replaced the lamps 3 times and just replaced the ballast. I am still getting 6 red blinks and 1 yellow


I hate being the bearer of bad news, had the same problem, and I found out that the problem with DLP is that after so long, nothing that you do will fix it. A TV repairman offered me $100 for my set and I took it, that was 2 years ago and it still goes through bulbs and ballast several times a year. Now when i see him he always says I never should have taken that TV. It never plays long enough to sell it.
On a liter note: 4k si approaching $1000 now, that's the way to go.

Is no audio a propblem that is repairable?


Hi hve you checked your setting on your tv. Check to make sure your speakers were not turn off. Try doing a system reset. IF that 's not the problem you might hae a problem with your sysnal board was there a storm or a power failure that might have caused the problem. Hope this helps.

Just replaced the bulb with a brand new sony bulb. it takes me almost 20 minutes to get the tv to turn on..i turn it on it turns itself off and red light blinks, and i keep trying until it finally powers...

If red light blinks 3 times when tv refuse to power up then check lamp cover that was removed to replace lamp, make sure lamp cover is fixed in its position securely and screw is tight.
Let me know how many times red light is blinking after three second long pause IF it is not blinking 3 times.

WD65733 Mitsubishi projection HDTV worked fine last night. This morning when I turn it on I can hear sound but no picture. After a minute it turns itself off. What is the problem?


Most likely just needs a new lamp.
the lamp is easy to replace , google for the lamp to buy one online.
a few screws hold the lamp door and lamp in place.

No check for bad capacitors on Power supply board they will be vented swollen or puffed up on top.
Go to Encompass Parts Distribution and look up your Model number.

I have a Mitsubishi WD-62725 that I purchased in February 2005. The manufacture date is November 2004. I was watching a DVD the other day and all of a sudden the picture just went black. I never received a...


Likely one of two things bad here. -- a bad color wheel in the light engine is not allowing the lamp to fire, or bad capacitors on the power supply is preventing the start up process from being completed. I have seen both, but more power supply issues. The PS is up front, behind the DM module and formatter module in the "box".

Techs HATE these sets!! The main reason is that ALL of the "stuff" is inside a bunch of "boxes" that shield things, but at the SAME time--they make repair a "#itch and ALSO overheat EVERYTHING!! Hopefully--you can find one willing to take a look at your set, if not under a service plan.
