Question about Mitsubishi HD-6000 DTV Receiver / Video Recorder

1 Answer

Mitsubishi WD65733 I hate this TV ~ I've had nothing but problems. Service company can't get it fixed. It turns off by itself all the time ~ red ligt comes on. You can reset, it will then turn back on ~ takes a while for the picture to show. Then it might last a day, or turn off again in 5 minutes. The service guy told me to push the menu and input at the same time, to get service code, but nothing happens. Can you help please. boones11@cox.net Thank you..

I have this TV and the same thing happens to me as well. Only a month after I purchased it, it started it. Once it turns off with the red status light blinking, press and hold the two buttons for about 10 seconds. You'll then see the green light start flashing. It will flash two sequences. Mine always gives me a code 37.

One weekend, I couldn't get it to turn on for two days, and I was so upset since I couldn't get any service people on the phone. When I finally found a service company that would return my call, the 5th company I called from Mitsubishi's authorized service techs in the area, they scheduled a guy to come out. Eventually, before he came out, I got it to come on and stay on after countless resets. And of course, once he came out to the house we could not replicate the problem.

Since then, (about 4 months ago) it's worked perfectly until just last week it did it again. This time, I only had to reset it about a dozen times before it worked and has worked consistently since then.

It's really frustrating that the problem is inconsistent, and for some reason Mitsubishi claims to never have experienced it before. I do have the extended warranty, and at this rate, I'm assuming they eventually do a full replacement after the 3 service call "lemon" clause.

Oddly enough, after

Update after 5 years: Eventually, the extended warranty service replaced the entire TV. I was constantly requiring service techs to come out, and eventually the tech was able to get someone on the phone at the warranty office and they finally agreed it was better to replace. (On this service call, it was to replace the DLP chip itself.) Against my better judgement, I purchased another Mitsubishi (WD65738) which is basically the same model just with 3D functionality. I've had it for a couple years now and so far only had it do the reset thing a couple times. Otherwise, it's worked great. Still bought an extended warranty just in case, but this is my last Mitsubishi. I love DLP technology, but it's time to move on.

Sound on Tv is turning on by itself

It (or something connected to it) is checking for firmware updates. Check the menu settings. Also check any device connected via scart to the TV.

Remote control not working

I presume you`ve checked batteies, nothing in the way etc.
The best way is to ring /email your tv company see if they have a code.

If it doesn`t work you could buy a universal remote control. read the below.

Motorola dvr dct6412 locked channels

Check with your provider to ensure that you are in expanded services, or limited. Because being on limited services the box will lock you out of those channels. If you are in billing for those services and you checked the batteries on your remote and they are good and you get a solid red blink when you change channels not a double blink (indicating that your batteries are dying), Then try power cycling your DVR by, removing the power supply and waiting 3sec then plug it back in. Your box should shut off, turn itself back on, then go into the load screen, then, once the load screen display shows on your tv and on box display, wait for your box to completely load (don't touch nothing until the correct time shows up, meaning that it has completed the load process) Once the process is complete turn box back on and you should have you guide back up and (No Data) on your program schedule(Don't Worry!!) it will populate, with 15-20 mins.

Now try to ch. up and down and see if that fixed the problem. also make sure nothing is blocking the sensor. If all else fails and you changed the battery, called your cable provider and request a box swap, (be sure to watch all your recorded shows because they go bye, bye with the cable guy!)

Unable to record show on the DVR

Try a hard reboot. Hold the power button on the box till it turns itself off. It will turn itself back on. After restarting try to record live tv. If you can't watch recorded shows either your harddrive may be fried. After thought, a $20 tv tuner card from e-bay for your computer, you could record them to your desktop.

This is exactly intermitent problem, It needs to be trouble shoot at the repair shop if the problems occurs from power supply or high voltage. It needs a lot of test and equuipement to be accurate. And also the specific parts.

One T.V. snowy on Sat., clear on local channels, others are fine?

if you recently got dishnetwork call the company that installed the system for a repair person, they HAVE to fix it. if you put it in yourself it sounds like the lnb is bad or the dishnetwork splitter is bad or not hooked up right. this kind of problem is a reminder that paying an extra $5 a month for service warranty is a good deal. if something is wrong with anything then, a phone call to dishnetwork will get new equipment sent to you or a service tech sent to fix it. i don't presently work for dish or direct or a cable co but i know that's how things work.

Philips plasma won't turn on first time

I have found this on a site and am in the proccess of trying to mend my plasma PF9964 as it started to take longer and longer until it stopped coming on. I've got the back off so I just need to un solder capacitors and replace. Here's the info I found. Bad power switch circuit General Comments If you have this problem with your Philips 32PF9964: When I switch the TV on, it appears as though it is going to start i.e the green light comes on, then after about 10 seconds it switches itself off and the standby light flashes red. It takes 10 /12 times before it starts and is getting worse. This is the solution: The problem is three caps. Change the cap 2663, 2664 both 100µ/25V and 2662,1000µ/25V. After you have changed them your TV will work again. You will find them easy if you unscrew the back on the plasma TV. Cheers, Mike
