1:settings
2:Set phone

I had a the same problem, with my computer not reading the SD card when the phone was connected to the computer. However, after messing with my phone for a while, I believe I've found the solution. On the phone menu, go to;
"Settings"
then, "Set Phone"
then, "Select USB Mode"
and finally, "Mass Storage"

Your computer should now read the data off the SD card, as if it were a drive. I don't think the "PC Studio" program will recognize the phone after this, but you can always manually copy music into the folders on the card now.

Hope this has helped!

Do you have a memory card yet? If the phone has expandable memory you may HAVE to get a memory card to put files on it. Alot of phones with expandable memory dont have much built in. You can try a small file to test it out like a few second audio clip or a small photo.

Problem:
Having same issues as you guys, I obtained a 2GB sd card for this phone, first had to load one MP3 at the time using the phone CD software, and it had to be smaller than 5MB or I will overflow the phone's memory.... it took me forever to select and do the songs... in addition, my cell phone was erasing my 2GB card data without warning... it got me really mad... I did call Samsung and no solution it all, just a good "have a nice day".

Solution:
I Invested in a $16 bucks sd card reader in a local cell phone store,

Benefits:
and all of a suddent I can load my music directly into the already pre-formatted on the samsung cell phone card in 3 minutes.... all at once instead of 50 songs in 4 hours....

I hope this helps you the way it help me friends....

Hi
I have this phone too
..and got the same troubles puttings mp3's on it with the PC STUDIO software...it was frustrating
I finally took my microSD card and formated it in the phone...to get the image, music, video folders...etc...those folders have to stay on the card...then I took my TransFlash adapter that came with the card and put it in another mp3 player. I plugged it on my pc and filled the ''music'' folder with songs...I put the card back in the phone and everything works.
DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THE BLUETOOTH TECHNOLOGY ON THIS PHONE IS COMPATIBLE WITH BLUETOOTH SPEAKERS LIKE THE PARROT PARTY?

Thanks

you won't get asked if you want mass storage or pc studio unless you go to phone settings, set phone, the last one set usb and pick ask on start something like that its the easiest as you don't then have to go to settings each time just pick what you want, but i found that i can't get files to go on the phone with pc studio picked and I couldn't with mass storage. I finally went through windows explorer and dragged the files to the folders but I put five videos and only the first one will play. got a solution to this. boy these people who write this stuff are supposed to be so smart but they didn't get right and easy

I have a Kingston 1 gig micro sd card. Same problem, what gives?

Comment by Guest, posted on Feb 14, 2008

I also have the same problem with the computer not recognizing the 2 Gig card. After 3 tries with Samsung I got a hold a guy that says not all 2 Gig cards work some manufacturers don't like the Sandisk one Rogers my cellphone supplier sent me. Rogers is sending me a new card that they say should work.

According to Samsung all 1 Gig cards work but only some of the 2 Gig do.

I also have the same problem with "insufficient memory" coming up when trying to transfer mp3's on my Samsung SGH-a516. I do have a 2GB micro memory card installed in it. It shows up as installed on my phone desktop and also shows that I have more than enough memory for the 650MB of music that I'm trying to download. I have tried just about everything to try to get this damn thing to work and am at my wits end. I would sure appreciate a fix for this problem.
