Question about Dell Dimension 3000 PC Desktop
I tried to upgrade the RAM memory of this computer (Dell Dimension 3000) from the 512mg to 2GB (2 x 1gb) by simply removing the 512 memory and inserting the 2 -1GB. When I turned the computer on it started to smell after a few seconds... I turned it off and switch back to the 512MB memory, but now I can't see anythign on any screen... it has to do with the video card??? can this be fixed (some other way than replacing the motherboard)?
You have onboard video and cant install a video card. your mb. has nooooo agp or pci-ex. sounds like you installed your memory upside down and fried your motherboard. toasted it even. please dont be mad at me.

Is the video card built into the motherboard? If not you can try replacing just the video card to see if that works. Otherwise I am afraid you may have to replace the motherboard.
