Check your drain hose and outlet to see if not bent over
otherwise if the machine is getting on in years the pump may be wearing out

My GSD5560G03SS GE triton dishwasher has a short wash cycle. Fills, washes for 2 minutes and drains. Sometimes it pauses for 30 minutes after short wash and then drains and dries.

I have a newer model, it usually beeps with an error code when it drains prematurely, due to a leak detected or component problem. If it's under warranty, get it serviced quick, as they will not help you at all once it expires. I gave up and decided to buy another brand after not getting anywhere with them about their poor designed dishwasher that has given me nothing but problems and headaches, and today I discovered a part that was completely inside and encased in plastic that had moisture get into it and rust it right out - my dishwasher has been in use less than 3 years!

GE Triton 24

Hi

Please note that dishwashers don’t drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn’t overheat.
Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. Check the drain hose for any visible clogging, remove if present. If no visible lint is present then remove then turn off the dishwasher and remove the drain hose and check for any visible clogging. If still not visible then the drain filter or drain pump is clogged and you’ll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump.

Please post back for any further assistance.

GE Triton Dishwasher fills with water but no spraying occurs.

Trouble shooting GE dishwasher
Model GSD6600G00WW

Air gap is clean
Garbage disposal is clean
Dishwasher fills with water OK
Drain pump runs after a wait of several minutes and seems to run slow but drains most of the water out of the reservoir.
Dishwasher is not running the wash cycle (spraying water on dishes)

Dishwasher won't stop washing

Could be a couple things... but let's address the "not draining" first

Have you recently installed a new disposal? Ensure that the drain plug is removed "punched-out". The plug is located where the air-gap or your dishwasher drain-line is directly connected to the disposal.

This can possibly make the rest of the machine malfunction due to the sensing of "sitting" water that is not draining. Ensure you're pump and filter is not clogged from debris (Inside, right, rear of dishwasher or screen type material)

Other than that, the problem can also possibly be your control board ($100+ dollars for part only)

GE Triton XL Dishwasher

My Triton XL soap dispenser still has a clump of soap after the cycle has finished. My glasses are left with a cloudy film, and my silverware is left marked with film on it. I have cut down on the amount of detergent, and have not overfilled. I have also tried using white vinegar as the manual states. Any suggestions? Thank you

Ge triton xl dishwasher

One answer is NEVER buy another GE product!!! I bought all GE Profile appliances when I redecorated my kitchen. Have had issues with every single piece. Refrigerator has been replaced twice (on 3rd one). Triton XL dishwasher will not reset...good luck getting it back to normal wash if you change a cycle...for example to run just a rinse. It is almost impossible to get it to reset. And don't get me started on the over the stove microwave. Never have been able to use the lights. Every time from day one I turn them on, the bulbs blow and the cover shatters. Absolutely no support from GE!!!
