Bought a new comp, & for 10 days keyboard & mouse worked fine. then wireless mouse stopped connecting to receiver, so i put in new batteries, then after reboot it worked fine. 3 days later same thing happened to the keyboard, so i tried the same thing to no avail. even when i plug in my old wired keyboard, i still need to reboot for it to work. i was told batteries should last for 6 months anyway. device manager tells me keyboard is working fine. has it locked like some forums say due to multiple key entry ? i've tried using other usb ports for receiver, but even after pressing connect on receiver and keyboard and reboot nothing happens. im at your mercy ! please help me if you can. ty.

Unplug the wireless receiver from the back of the computer. Wait 10 seconds and replug back in. Check connectivity. If nothing then check batteries in mouse, if still nothing try click the Connect button on the wireless receiever and then underneath the keyboard...repaet the process for the mouse. You should get something on the screen stating the channel 1 is for the keyboard and channel 2 is for the mouse. Hope this helps! - Erick :-)
I would have suggested opening up your old mouse and cleaning the right click button first.

Solution. My wireles keyboard stopped working except for the F-Lock key, the Media key and the sleep key. It wasn't batteries, even though I tried, communication was there because the above keys were working. Remove the batteries from your keyboard and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Press the red connect button a few times and other various keys every few minutes during that time. This may be the whole "capacitor discharge" trick, but I tired that with someone elses instructions and my keyboard did not work after 2 minutes of key pressing. I think it just needed more time to clear out the secure settings. Good luck, I was about to trash this keyboard until I tried again
I had this problem for a very long time as well. Turns out this is an encryption issue. It's off-balance. You need to reset the encryption, and here's how:
On the LEFT side of your wireless keyboard press and hold Ctrl+Alt, and press F12, then release all three buttons. Now push the Connect button on your Wireless Receiver, then the connect button on your wireless keyboard. Now press Esc. Try it. See if it works. It did for me.
Turn the mouse over and find the small
rest/connect button on the bottom of the mouse and press it.
This should connect the mouse to the receiver and work properly.
If not, try pressing the receiver button and then press the button on
the mouse. This should be done whenever you change batteries or
