Re: DEGX1 Drum not working
the first thing is
try unplugging the unit for 60 sec.
otherwise i suggest getting a sevicer. as these machines are easy to work on only if you are familiar with them.
If u still wan't to take a risk then check the following:
If this doesn't work thenTo determine if the
element is bad, you will need to take the unit apart and get to the element.
The wire heat coil must be physically broken to cause no heat.
If it is not broken, then you will need to check each thermostat
for continuity, if you do not have a meter, you could always jump each
thermostat out one by one to see which one is causing no heat.
Always have the dryer unplugged when working on it.
Replug only to test. I would still have my 220 volt
supply checked before taking anything apart, the dryer can run and
tumble, but not heat on 110 volts.
You need to replace
your cord cap and maybe the wall outlet too. The situation you described would
not be letting 240 volts to the machine, and therefore, it would not work.

I was cleaning mine and doing the same thing last night. Washed a load of clothes tonight and went to dry them and everything works on it except it won't spin or heat. Heard the same type of popping noise last night cleaning it out. Have you found any solutions? Mine is just over a year old. I did some reading and thing that the dryer belt came off its assembly possibly. Have you found a solution?
Hi dear. Here is some help from the user manual.I hope that helps.Thanks.
DryingRack To use the drying rack Do not remove the lint screen. 1. Open dryer door.
2. Place drying rack inside dryer drum, positioning the back wire
on the ledge of the inner dryer back panel. Push down on
front edge of drying rack to secure over the lint screen.
3. Put the wet items on top of the rack. Leave space between
the items so air can reach all the surfaces.
NOTE: Do not allow items to hang over the edge of the rack.
4. Close the door.
5. Select a timed drying cycle and temperature, or an air cycle
(see following chart). Items containing foam, rubber, or plastic
must be dried on a clothesline or by using the Air Only
6. You must select a time by pressing MORE TIME or LESS
TIME. Reset time as needed to complete drying. Refer to the
7. Press (and hold) HOLD TO START button (about 1 second).
NOTE: You must remove rack for normal tumbling. Do not use
automatic cycles with the drying rack.
This chart shows examples of items that can be rack dried and
the suggested cycle, temperature setting and drying time. Actual

Have you husband do a visual inspection of the drum and literally feel it to see if anything is caught or stuck on the drum. The motor also may have something caught in it as well. This would be the motor that turns the drum.
If you have to run the dryer 2 to 3 times as long to dry the clothes then you just need to make sure the vent hose behind the dryer isn't kinked up and the vent is open all the way out side ,,, that will fix it for you. Larry
Hello dagreen, Welcome to fixya. I'm Huuum and happy to assist you,
You said, Last night you filled the washer with a comforter and pillow cases! It
was working fine and then you lifted the lid. Now it wont start back. Any
ideas. It is full of water and had already started agitating.
Check the breaker Could the power be out due to an electrical storm while you were sleeping. If not!
Try pulling the plug out for 5 minutes or turning the breaker off if you can't reach the plug. Then try to start. this should have reset the system.
Some Questions to check • Is the drain hose clogged, or the end of the drain hose more than 96 in. (244 cm) above the floor? See the Installation Instructions for proper installation of drain hose. • Is the lid open? The lid must be closed during operation. Washer will not agitate or spin with the lid open. • Is there excessive sudsing? Always measure detergent. Follow manufactures directions. If you have very soft water, you might need to use less detergent.
let me know how you do and that it works. Huuum please remember to leave a rating when your finished.
