    Dear mafmd,

The best advice I can give you is to go to www.MicrowaveDisplay.com , they give you explicit instructions on how to remove your display. They repaired mine for about $60, which included new start/stop/fan/light keys. It took about 2 weeks door to door.

The start button broke on my Sharp Model R-1502

Same problems as above. LED Display stopped working and the start button has become loose and unusable.

Ours went bad about a year after we purchased it. I wonder if there is a recall.

This occured 2 years ago on our R-1506--both the display jumbled and the start button only working periodically when pushed a certain way. My husband ordered some part and fixed himself, but now the same thing is occurring again. Unfortunately hubby's not available to help this time.

I'll do that; I'm a bit surprised at how many people have the same problem; This is likely the last Sharp microwave oven that I will buy or recommend.

Thanks so much for your help.

No! I'am afraid not, the problem is in the keypad control board, the whole assembly must be replaced, the part alone will cost around $100.00 or more depending on make and model.

My Sharp R-1502 over the range microwave doesn't give any heat at all. What parts do you think I will buy to solve the problem?

There is to many parts that can cause no heat, and some are very expensive, plus the voltages in the microwave oven are lethal. I strongly recommend a professional because of safety, and he has the tools and test equipment to get to the bottom of the problem.

First check all door switches are properly working. If they are ok , the defect may be in the key pad. You need to replace the key pad.
