Ok first, power off, take the monitor off from its stand and face it
up. You first, have to take the front frame out by using very thin flat
screw driver. Be careful! you might break the screen if you push too
much force. Start from the bottom edge of the screen where you can see
little rectangular cavities. A thin flat screw driver will fit it and
try to pry it to separate the font frame from the back. Try to do this
for all of the cavities gradually together. After that, loose 4 screws
from the back and it will be easily to pull off.

Hi,

There are two cables connected at the back of the monitor. one for the power and one for the video . Make sure the one for the video is securely fitted.

Hope that helps.

The monitor goes blank. the power light is still on but after about a second it goes out. id i turn the power switch off and then back on it will cme out and go out again within a second. Dell E193FP

It can be blown transistors, bad fuse, bad caps.
See the inside of the monitor here: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/Dell%20E193FP/

If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

My Dell E193FP boots up with the computer and then

Seems to be a very common problem with this screen. Im taking one apart as we speak to try to discover the problem. In the mean time - check that the Power Input isnt loose, and you can wiggle it around. Usually means the power is arcing onto the board

Will the E193FP work with my computer?

Hi,
I would suggest , check the monitor connections again. Dell flat panels are plug and play and donnot require additional drivers.
Make sure , you have not connected , both the analog (vga cable with a blue connector) and the digital (dvi cable with a white connector) to the back of your computer.
Refer to the the link below , to troubleshoot the monitor

Thanks

Opening the back plate of a dell e193fp

most all the dells open by gently prying off the front bezel
it snaps in place around the edges.
be gentle and don't put any pressure on the lcd or you will leave marks forever.
