How about this, i see something listed as just Location Free

Looking around Sony's support site I don't see anything for yours specific router, so I hope the above link is right. Here is a link to the Sony Support, that once you select the correct model there is a help for router config that might work if the above doesn't, which is found here.

I did notice that they have firmware updates available, not sure if you need them though, they are found here.

Hope one of those links help.

How do I initiate port forwarding on my dir-625

check the ip address of your router, you should do fowarding on the settings of your router.
You should open a port number not the same with an application on your computer. If we have counter strike which has a 1809 port number, then you shouldnt use that port number because its being used by counter strike.

Port fowarding and remote desktop

Port forwarding is not the only thing that you have to enable to access your home network. Firstly do you just want to access your router from the outside? If that is the case enable remote login via the administration tab.
If you want to login to your computer from the outside then you must first enable remote desktop and enable port forwarding on your router.

You enable port forwarding for port 3389 which is the remote desktop port. So start port is 3389 and end port is 3389 after that set a static IP on your computer that you want to access.
You can enable remote desktop by following the directions below at the link '

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/mobility/getstarted/enableremote.mspx

After doing this. What you do is go to the status tab of your router. Look at the IP there.

On the remote computer lauch remote desktop and enter that IP then click connect. IT will then ask you for the username and password of the computer behind the router that you want to login to. After that you should be able to get in.

If you need any clarifications regarding this you may message me and id be glad to help.

Help with my router

You did not have this problem before because port forwarding was set on the previous router settings, or you were using a modem ( no firewall) .
Here are instruction for port forwarding
Here are more instuctions
One last thing, if your computer is powerful enough (1gb memory would be good), use Azureus, is much better.

Linksys BEFW11S4-RM 4 port wireless router

This is an old router. Look at the power light. You must have a STEADY power light. RESET the BEFW11s4 by pushing the reset button for 30seconds. Unplug the power of the BEFW11s4 for 30 seconds. Connect pc to port 2 or 3. pc should get an ip of 192.168.1.x. If you are getting this ip that means that the pc is already detecting the router.

Port fowarding

open your browser on the address bar type in http://192.168.1.1
if you get prompted for user name and password your good to go
type 'admin' in the password box and your in

UNLESS you specified a different log-in and router IP in this case you will have to do a factory reset, this will erase all your setting back to default, then you can log-in

Thanks for rating
