Shut Down Message

My TV works properly most of the time, however, it turns off after the following message is displayed in yellow at the bottom of the screen "TV will shut down in a few seconds. Please check the airflow..." This has been happening off and on for the last year. Right now, as soon as I turn the TV on, the sign is displayed. Therefore I am getting no TV at all. When it shuts down an amber light on the front of the panel turns on. But sometimes it will work fine for months.

I had just read something about this problem at the Mitsubishi Site.

Go to www.Mitsubishi.com, then Support, then Warrenties, now look for "IF YOU HAVE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING MODELS CHECK HERE". The first one is addressing this problem on specific models. Hopefully you have one of these models.....
Hope this helps

The repair is to have the DLP engine replaced!!
FYI: The engine also can cause the set to shut down without any display or might even tell you the lamp door is open when it is not.

The lamp needs to be replaced. It's on the back and easy to do. I replaced mine about 3 months ago and it was about $182.00. Hope this works, I know it's hard to fork out that kind of money at this time but once you do the TV will be as good as new. Take care

most rear projectors will turn themselves off whenever the lamp is dead. what we call protective mode. in this case the yellow light may be for the lamp. otherwise check if all the fan are working properly.
But MAKE SURE you let sufficient time for the tv to cool off before unplugging the main.

hope this helps
