We just got a Kirby The Ultimate G Series, Model G7D bagged Upright Vacuum. It has a small green light on the top right side of the power nozzle.
We got the Owner's Manual with the vacuum. It does not mention any place in the manual what this small light is for.
Should it be on or off when using the vacumm?
Thanks in advance.
The green light is just to inform you that the brushroll is spinning. there is a magnet on the brushroll that makes the green light come on every time it rotates. also why it looks like the light flickers because the magnet only makes contact once per rotation of your brushroll. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Solution #2 is right. The green light informs you that the beater brush is spinning. If you are vacuuming a bare floor (such as a kitchen floor or hardwood floor) you would want to have the beater brush disengaged by turning the belt lifter handle (found on the front of your vacuum head) all the way to the left until the red arrows line up. Now when you run the vacuum you won't see the green light on because the beater brush is disengaged. When you are going to vacuum a carpet then you would want to turn the belt lifter back to the right so the green arrows line up. Now the beater brush should spin again and the green light will be on.

If the light is not working it means you attached Kirby head incorrectly or you belt snapped. How to attache the head correctly or change the belt you can see on our website:
