If you're intent on gluing one together or making one yourself, that's a bad idea. if it's off by a fraction of a millimeter, it's be obvious in your image. if you get the part new it's under $20, and replacing it is easy. just get one from an infocus service center, like av solutions in ny. they're really good. www.avsolutionsny.com

Hi my infocus projector 4805 glass filter has fallen out, how do i fix it pls (ps i am a technologically incompetent female so need non techy language pls :)

Its commonly refered to as a Light Tunnel Failure. Go to www.avsforum.com and search for "4805 Light Tunnel" and you will finds threads on how to fix the problem.
If you have never opened the PJ before, there are 1-2 threads about opening the cabinet.
I also posted a DIY replacement solution that may help:

Its a Light Tunnel failure. Go to www.avsforums.com and search for 4805 Light Tunnel. There are instructions to open the PJ and repair the Tunnel. Also, I posted a DIY replacement option in lieu of fixing the very fragile tunnel.

We have a screenplay 4805 by infocus. the right third has a dark shadow over the picture? the picture is lightly visible thru the shadow.

the light tunnel under the colorwheel has collasped or the projector has been jarred, knocking the mirror inside of the lens assy. out of alignment. Either way, it will have to be repaired by a technician.

InFocus 4805 - right 1/3 is fine, middle 1/3 dim, left very dim.

the light tunnel is collapsing and needs replacement. the part itself is relatively inexpensive, but you have to be careful if you want to replace it yourself. it's under the colorwheel, which is delicate. when you remove the top, front, and rear panels, remove the colorwheel (which is between the lens and the lamp) and carefully set it aside. there are 2 screws holding the light tunnel bracket in place. remove them and the bracket. pull out the pieces of the tunnel (little rectangles of mirror) and replace with a new one. reverse the steps to put it back together. by the way, you can get the part from any infocus authorized service center (check the infocus website for the one closest to you). part # 306-0095-01

I have a InFocus 4805. Half the picture is darker

Your light tunnel may have collapsed. This is made up of 4 tiny rectangular mirrors glued together to make a tunnel.

Dark side of screen

the light tunnel has collapsed and needs replacing. the part is inexpensive and relatively easy to replace. if you can get the part from infocus or an authorized service center (part # 306-0095-01), remove the top (4 brass screws and 4 silver screws on the bottom, 2-3 silver screws on the back), next to the lens is the colorwheel. remove the 2 black screws on the colorwheel base, 2 black screws on the metal tunnel frame side, remove the tunnel glass. replace, and reverse the instructions to put it back together.

New Problem after fixing Light Tunnel on a SP 4805

It sounds like you have mounted the replacement light tunnel incorrectly. It is a common error. What has happened is you have the light tunnel sitting on yop of the positioning stop which is opposite from the color wheel side. If you take it back apart you will see that it's not laying parallel to the casting. if you reposition it so it is just touching where the opening is in the clamp on the color wheel side you will feel it fall into place.

Glass prism

Greetings,

Thanks for contacting us regarding your product questions or concerns. It appears you are wanting to know how to reach the glass prism from your 4805?

My initial question would be, why are you looking to access the glass prism in your 4805? This is a very dilicate process internally of your projector which helps it opperate. Are you trying to self-repair your projector?

Let me know. I'll be waiting for your reply.
