Question about Sharp LC-26D6U 26 in. LCD Television

3 Answers

Sound Trouble After 2 years of owning this TV, the sound goes off after 10 to 20 minutes of being on. We've read the posts of people having this problem with this TV and taking it to be repaired which hasn't helped them--it just goes off again after a short while. Help!

Do you have any info other than the exact model number? I'll see what I can come up with and go from there. Audio Chip failure is not uncommon but I need a starting place. If these turn out to be an across the board issue where Mass numbers are failing I'll investigate this also And provide a solution for all affected. Also if you could forward the info to get to Postings where others have had the same issue I'd like to see these as well. www.ikenfixit.com

Ive noticed these are well known for problems from Video, to Dead, to audio problems.. 100uf caps seem to be one of the problems in manufacturing as they had installed 10uf instead? .(I Can understand this)... Numerous software upgrades, Numerous postings I would love to have 50 of these on my bench and figure out between the different revisions/ Models and problems.. If interested yell back to me.... Theres a problem forming here and skamber@kamberedelson.com is all I can say you folks should do. Not my baby as I do not own nor did not buy one..

    Good luck!

L32W961 screen goes black then comes back on. later when video comes back sound does not

That is definitely a manufacturers error.
If it has been less than a year since you purchased it i would contact them.
They will send you to a service center. If it cant be fixed they will replace your tv.
It is all covered by them.
If it is past a year its honestly not worth fixing it,
You can find name brand 32 inch tv's for less than 250
while fixing it would cost around 150.

Tv loses sound after around 45minutes of being swiched on

there may be problem in your amplifier or the mute signal or the input signal from processor or speakers, First you have to check the audio output from the processor by using another external amplifier... connect it to the correct audio out pin of processor( these are R,L audio written in pcb near the processor lead that carry) if there is sound moreover than 45 minute....... replace the external amplifier and connect it to its own amplifier.... disconnect the own cabin speakers and connect another sp. and check... if there is sound break after45 minute.... replace the amplifier ic(may beTDA7297) if there is still have the problem, check the amplifier circuite suitable for your ic and dissconnect the mute connection from processor and make a connection to the +ve or ground follows as the circuit(means give external mute signal to amplifier dont from processor)......

First, average life on these sets is about 3 to 4 years at best and only boards are sold so even if you can pin point the board (no individual parts are sold) it is likely if will not get fixed and doing so is a bad investment as all the boards are now old.

New device not found usb1 power overload

Dear inVaUSA, I followed your action and contacted 1-800-SAMSUNG but did not fare as well as you did. I was told there is not a firmware update nor a patch to fix the "New Device Not Found USB1 Power Overload" even after I read your post to the support representative I was dealing with. She told me that it is a PlayStation issue even though I have never connected any USB device to any USB Port on my Samsung TV. Could I Please trouble you to send me the firmware update you received from Samsung `in a private message or to my email address if you prefer. Thank you!

I have the same model and the same problem... I am told the power display board is is the issue and may need to replacing. New board costs around $80,or a bad capacitor depending on your paitence.

Buzzing sound after only 2-1/2 years of service

I suspect you have a bad set of capacitors in the control module. This problem usually starts out as a high pitched noise but can lead to the TV not turning on. Please see the link below, posted by StivO. It gives step by step instructions on how to replace the capacitors. This is a very inexpensive fix.
