The F5914 has a lid that must be engaged with the tank in order for the suction to reach the floor. Gently lift the front of the lid on the tank and if it lifts up, you haven't engaged the two tabs on the tank into the lid. Remove the lid and make sure the tabs on the tank fit into the grooves on the lid and snap it closed. This should solve your problem. Also, make sure that the removable duct in the front of the tank is in place. It is removed when the hose is used, but must be replaced when the machine is used on the carpet.

Model F5892-900 Does not seem to be sucking up the solution/water. Is there something that may need to be cleaned out? If so, how? Thanks

The most common reason for lack of pick up is that the lid is not fully seated on the dirty water tank. A far less common reason for no pick-up is that the seal that the tank sits on has fallen off the motor cover suction tube. You will see a round tube on the bottom of the dirty water tank. This sits on top of a large rubber seal on the motor cover when the tank is in place. Be sure the seal has not fallen down into the hood.

It would help to know what brand of machine you have and if it's a vacuum cleaner or a carpet shampooer.(It sounds like a shampooer.)

Won't suck up the water

This happens when the filter on the inside of the lid for the dirty water tank is pushed all of the way up. You need to leave a 1/4 in. gap from the top to the top of the filter. Or the lid for the dirty water tank is not locked down all the way around.

Steam vac will not pick up dirty water

My Hoover Steamvac problem isn't with the bruches--it's with the suction. Dirty soapy water stays in the carpet instead of being returned to one of the holding tanks.

It is not sucking up all the water

I've had this happen to my SteamVac V2 and usually find that it's because I don't have the dirty water tank locked down well or I haven't pushed the hand attachment flap in tight or its gotten clogged up down in the suction area. I have a black lab and that area accumulates dog hair quickly. I use a Zip-it available at Lowe's or on the web to clean that out.

Steamvac quit spraying

Check the seal that the clean water tank sits on, may have come loose. The filter inside the dirty water tank has been pushed up too far, needs to have a 1/4 in. gap from the top to the top of the filter.
