No the machine will not if you have copied or faxed. If you have scanned to the computer it should have file stored on however.

How can I email a document from xerox copy machine through my laptopp

The best way to email any document from any printer is to have a scanning program that can scan from your printer/scan/copy machine. If your printer only has printing capabilites then it is impossible to capture the printed document back to your laptop.

The first step is to check to see if your Xerox copy machine is a model that includes printing/scanning/copying capabilites.

If it does, then install the scanning program.

Once installed, scan your document, save it to a place you remember on you laptop, then email it using your favorite email program, such as hotmail or yahoo.

hope this helps, if not let me know.

How do I scan with this thing?

What OS do you have installed? Did you install the full-featured software or the Canon drivers? These are available here: . If you installed a generic driver from the OS, uninstall it and unplug the data cable (USB) before installing the Canon drivers. (The OS driver will work for the printer but not the scanner.) Next place the document face down on the glass or face up if you have a automatic document feeder.

Always do the first few scans from the computer. (The full software will hear the scanner buttons but you need a few things first. There are scan icons in the software that need to be programmed for the destinations and default locations. The monitoring program also must be running before the scan buttons on the all-in-one will work.) Launch the MP Navigator (double-click on the icon or from the Start Menu) and then the black & white or color scan. Set your resolution and contrast. Adjust these as needed and then Scan and OK. (You can do preview scans and then press an on-screen Scan button.) For more information see the documentation at the Canon site: . Remember the settings that give good results; you can use these settings to help you set the destinations and defaults for the scan buttons.

If you have Windows XP or later, you can scan without the MP Navigator in Paint (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint). Then choose File > Import from Camera or Scanner. In Vista and Win7, there is also Windows Fax and Scan that can acquire scans (New Scan). Vista also includes Photo Gallery with a similar feature; the program is available for Win7 in the Microsoft Live package.

I hope this helps.

Its looking to associate an application to itself that it can send the images to. Most all in one printers provide software for this purpose. You have to install the software that came with your unit

Lexmark, scanner asks for pin code and won't scan without it.

This drove me mad for about 2 hours (I've just experienced the same problem), but have finally found the solution!

Firstly, it depends on what Lexmark you have (as different printers use different software)...

For my Lexmark which is an S600, I went into the program 'Lexmark home' which was in the lexmark folder on the start menu and in my lexmark software folder, went to 'settings' and then 'Network computer name'. From here you can set the pin.

According to people experiencing this problem with other Lexmarks, you can do this via the equivalent 'productivity suite' program through 'network settings'.

Hope this helps.

I want to copy a document

How often do you need to "copy" documents. Do you have a document scanner?  Your Epson is a printer.  You'll need a scanner to scan a document into your PC then you can print it out on your Epson.  If you only need a copy once in a blue moon, and you don't have a scanner, save yourself a few bucks and just go to Kinko's or maybe even your local grocery store or library and run your copies there.  They probably cost about 25 cents a page.  A new scanner will run you about $100 bucks.  If you decide that you need a scanner, you might even want to consider investing in a multi function printer which will scan-print-copy-fax.  Hope this helps.  If so, please remember to rate my solution.  Thanks.

Want to scan to pdf a document larger than one auto-feed tray

I'm just thinking off the top of my head but there is an option in copying called 'job build' in special functions. This enables you to add many document sets into one print job. This may also work for scanning although i can't remember trying. Try it.

Assuming you're using Windows XP, you either need to install the full software suite (to access copy, scan, fax and print features), or if you don't have the CD, download the package here:

Let me know if this helps, and please remember to rate my answer :)
