Optio lense stuck

The lens to my camera seems to be stuck. I was wondering whether there is a quick fix to it.

The same thing happened to me. Unfortunatley "lens lock" is not covered under the manufact. warranty. The only way to avoid this in the future (apparently it is very common with all digital cameras, especially the small ones) is to purchase the extended warranty from the retail store. Make sure that warranty covers accidental damage though!

Hi there please follow the steps and let me know the result.
1. Ensure batteries are fully charged & clean the battery connector point in side the battery compartment.
2. Look carefully between the lens and the camera body for any sand, dirt or any damaged etc.
3. Try turning the camera with the lens facing down and shake to dislodge anything stuck
4. Try removing batteries and memory card, wait 5 minutes and refit the battery only.
5. Now turn on camera( with out card ) and see ,if working then fix the memory card & again turn on the camera. If working then fine . Lenses are out/won't turn on/off

Hi,
The transmission system that moves the lens in and out has a problem with it's gears. There is most likely a gear or an actuator that has fallen out of alignment and is getting stuck at a certain point as the lens comes in/out.There is some disturbacnce of the lens arrangement that is preventing the lens from coming in/out.Any of these symptoms above could trigger the camera to shut itself off to protect itself from further damage.

Camera wont turn on&lens wont move

Folks,

Try to assist the machine mechanism. Turn the lenses (force is no necessary) when turning on or off. This should unlock the mechanism.
Good luck!

Pentax optio s6

This is exactly how my problem started. Then after repeated attempts to turn it on or off the lense actually stuck in the on position. After GENTLY forcing it in the off position, it began turning on and would immediately turn back off. After reading every problem posted that had to do with the lense I figured that the lense had somehow worked it's way of the "track or gear" that moves it in and out. I don't recommend this solution unless you figure that the cost of having it repaired proffesionally would be more than to replace the camera (I am a trial and error type of repair person). On my camera, also an S6, when the lense came forward and began to retract, I GENTLY held the lense in place for just a second. I repeated this probably four or five times until it "worked itself" back into the proper position. It does make the clicking noise while doing this which made me a bit nervous but it worked. The camera actually even seems to be focusing better which leads me to believe that possibly it hadn't been quite right for a while. AGAIN... you have to decide if the cost of proffessional repair is worth it to you. I am not a pro but this worked GREAT for me. Hope it helps.

Lens error

If it is a new[ish] purchase send it back via the seller. It may be an issue with the particular model. Get onto Pentax Tech support Team- See what happens- if it is an issue then a replacement free or at moderate cost may be available. If the camera is older -there will be no economic repair option.

Optio 450 Lens Stuck Problem

the lens cover gets stuck sometimes. It just needs a gentle touch and it opens up. Only happened once to me. In my case it happened after my daughter held onto the camera with her finger on the lens cover.
