Question about Gateway Belkin 54g Wireless DSL/Cable Router (DHF5D72304)

1 Answer

I've deleted my Nvidia for my Belkin router

My router according to the name underneath is a 'Belkin ADSL modem with wireless G router' (F5D7632-4) Idiotically, I have just removed my Nvidia software from my desktop (that I now think provided my link to my broadband router) when I was changing ISP. I am on my laptop using a wireless g notebook network card to gain access, hence I'm able to reach the internet. My desktop, although it is wired to the router, can find no link to the internet. The software is obviously not in the recycle bin (I've looked). I've downloaded Nvidia geforce forceware from their site onto my laptop, copied it onto a disk and loaded it onto my desktop but the message says that I haven't any compatible hardware. I've also tried restoring my system to yesterday - before I deleted the software - but the computer said no! It won't let me do that. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Do you know what kind of motherboard your system has, or in general what is the make & model of your system? I'll see if I can look that information up for you.

You'll probably want the nvidia "NForce" software. That contains the drivers for things like your network card.

Hi,
A friend who knows a fair bit about computers came over and worked out that it was the NForce software that I needed. We downloaded it and the computer is working now. Thanks for your help anyway - and you were right.

Are you trying to set up the router.
You can do it manually without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online through the modem.
If your computer is not able to go online through the modem then you will need to call ISP first.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem
then you need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

Belkin Wireless Router won't connect to ADSL

Turn off your modem and your router. Turn your modem back on wait for 2 mins then turn on your router. Try to connect. If that does not work. Connect your computer to the ADSL directly and check if you can get on. if not call your ISP.

hi dear

1. Try and uninstall the Belkin client software
2. Check to see if the WZCSVC service is running
You can check this by issuing the following command:
a) net start
b) sc query wzcsvc

Both command should list some info about WZCSVC (Wireless Zero
Configuration) if it is running.

3. If your wireless card is installed successfully, you should see a
antenna-type icon in the system tray.
If not, you need to install the drivers for the card manually. Check
the Belkin CD for drivers.

4. If you can see your new router's SSID (wireless name) then you should be
able to see it as a non-admin as well.

5. Failing all of this, retry the Belkin client software and its
documentation for indication on non-admin issues or ways to use the above
mentioned Windows wireless client.

oke

when you upgraded did any settings from your isp change like passwords or usenames that your router may not be registering at your isp's server, or the line speed that you are now getting is not suported by the router.

type 192.168.2.1 in your web browser and check the connection settings.
