Question about Gateway Belkin 54g Wireless DSL/Cable Router (DHF5D72304)
My router according to the name underneath is a 'Belkin ADSL modem with
wireless G router' (F5D7632-4) Idiotically, I have just removed my
Nvidia software from my desktop (that I now think provided my link to
my broadband router) when I was changing ISP. I am on my laptop using a
wireless g notebook network card to gain access, hence I'm able to
reach the internet. My desktop, although it is wired to the router, can
find no link to the internet. The software is obviously not in the
recycle bin (I've looked). I've downloaded Nvidia geforce forceware
from their site onto my laptop, copied it onto a disk and loaded it
onto my desktop but the message says that I haven't any compatible
hardware. I've also tried restoring my system to yesterday - before I
deleted the software - but the computer said no! It won't let me do
that. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
A friend who knows a fair bit about computers came over and worked out that it was the NForce software that I needed. We downloaded it and the computer is working now. Thanks for your help anyway - and you were right.
