Question about Computers & Internet

Filmscan 35 My old Filmscan 35 was fine until I lost the XP driver in PC upgrade. Have downloaded new driver but cannot get it to function. The scanner still operated to a degree in "MR Photo" software but with awful results. Has now developed a fault that stops the scanning head from returning to "park" after it has made its pass over the slide! Is this fixable or terminal? Any help would much appreciated. Alan

Please note this post is not about a web camera, its about a Microtek Filmscan 35 film & slide scanner. Apologies for the confusion. Alan

Hi fredycruger, many thanks for your help, unfortunately the biggest problem is to find out how to get the scan head to complete its travel back to its start position. Until this is solved I cannot try your driver source. There doesnt seem to be anything amiss inside the scanner, the head just stops when it has passed over the slide and nothing I do will make it return except rotating the worm drive by hand!

Again thanks for your imput- any other suggestions ?

Filmscan 1800 i need drivers for windows 7

Hello doctordavero ,
Probably the manufacturer does not provide support for Windows 7. If you absolutely need to keep using this device , the only way under windows 7 is a workaround :
solution one:
If you have the W XP install disc , you can install a virtual version of W XP on your machine from . It's easy and user's friendly . No specific knowledge required .
solution two :
If you still have the install disc , you can also partition your primary and install W XP on the new partition from
Back up your data first.
solution three:
I have Win 7 on my primary and installed Win XP on my secundary . Works like a charm .
Have a nice day ,
Best regards,
fanaudi .

How do i use an epson filmscan 200 with a laptop running windows 7

were you using it under windows xp? if you have 32 bit windows 7 I would try those same drivers. Unfortunately the filmscan 200 came out under windows 95/98 and so Epson never released XP drivers and some people were able to make it work.
I would consider connecting it to an older computer running windows 98 and then transfer the files as you scan them (this would definitely be the least painful)
If you have 64 bit windows 7 I would not even waste the effort, 32 bit is a long shot maybe.
Do you have scsi drivers on the the windows 7? because the filmscan 200 is a scsi 2 device
Good luck

Canoscan 9950F scanner will not scan with Win XP

Since you have had the scanner a while, you may not have a recent enough driver to work well with XP: until I smashed my 9950F, I was scanning under XP with the ScanGear CS 10.324a driver with no problems (the driver is dated 22 June 2007). You can download it from several sources on the web, I used

Other than that, they report some issues if the system drive is NTFS, but I was using NTFS for my system (and only) drive, so I don't see any reason for this to be your problem.

Good luck,

Software upgrade?

It works fine on XP, I am using it with XP SP3 currently. You should download the current driver from Minolta. Install the software before hooking up the scanner. I prefer to remove any existing drivers and re-boot before installing new drivers.
