Hi erin mckinle,
That is probably it's, uh, analog power saving mode. When the screen goes black and the power button flashes, make some mouse gestures or hit some keys that would not affect anything (try spacebar). That should bring up the screen. If you think it goes into power saving mode too fast, go to Control Panel --> Power Options, and change the values. Hope this helps.

My main home computer whener turned on goes to analog powersaving

LG does not show the 1750 monitor on their web site. It did show some discontinued monitors including a 1752, but there was no information available about them.

Another LG site said to use the far right bottom to auto adjust....for another monitor.

My HP has four buttons, MENU, <, >, and Return (also AUTO). Menu opens the monitor dialog box, with the arrow bottoms shifting through the menu. Select an item with return, then arrow to your selection, menu is also your exit button.

You may have a power saving selection here.

Also check the control panel for the POWER OPTIONS properties. A power scheme selection here will also change the mode of your monitor.

good luck

Monitor automatically clicks into power saving mode

Laptops often have a function key which switches from laptop only, external monitor only, laptop & external. One of the top number keys, along with the function (fn for short) must be pressed simultaneously to step through these.

Where these keys are at, may differ from laptop to laptop.

Monitor shuts off during boot. Let the machine boot full up, hit the power button, the monitor flashes windows for a split second, and goes back to power saving mode

Hey there Celius,

Chances are the 'Refresh Rate' somehow got set too high for the monitor. On flatscreens , the result is a black screen.

If you have an old monitor (crt type) hook that up temporarily and reboot.
  • Right Click the Desktop
  • Click Properties
  • Click Settings
  • Click Advanced
  • Click Monitor
  • Lower the refresh rate or set at optimal
  • Check the box 'Hide refresh rates this monitor can't display'
Shutdown, Switch back monitors and try it now.

Good luck

Hooked up a used 17" LG Flatron L1720P flat Panel. When I turn it on it says Power Saving Analog Mode and goes black, no instructions with it.

Make sure your power cables are connected properly. Sounds like it's not getting any video data from the graphics card.

If it is not your graphics card, It could be a dead monitor.

"analog power save mode"

different monitors have different settings. Anyhow, press the menu button on your monitor (hope it is there otherwise some other button must have been assigned this function). Choose recall or auto adjust or factory default from there (whichever of these options you can see). Nothing serious.....

Lg monitor won't come on

Try connecting the LG monitor to the VGA port on the HP tablet instead on the docking station.

Monitor automatically clicks into power saving mode

I have an LG W2261V, and an old Sharp LL-T19D1-H. The PC runs both just fine, and the PSU has plenty of power. Unfortunately the LG handles power save mode very differently, where the LG would not switch on after entering this mode unless reset (unplugged, PC rebooted, etc). Extremely frustrating, as the old Sharp never had any problems exiting its own power save mode. The LG would enter this mode based on the monitor power settings (in whatever power scheme you are using) in the screensaver tab in display properties. I fixed this by selecting "Never" for "the Turn off monitor" property. I guess this is a warning to those who may wish to buy a new LG monitor, but want to use a power scheme to turn off the monitor.
