My DLP lamp has been replaced but yet the picture is still dark. I have tried...

This thing you have do:

  1. Open the cover of your TV.
  2. Look at the CRT driver board inside and remove all screws including the cover of that board.
  3. Then rotate the CRT board in reverse position to apply a voltage data.
  4. Power on the TV to start a voltage data.Use a multimeter (range on DC) then place your black prob(-) to the ground of the TV and the other one is place on the B+ that usually found on the 3rd pin of the ply-back transformer.Check the B+ voltage if you have a 100-120vdc.
  5. I'm sure you have the B+ voltage because your TV is not totally dead.Check the reading of the B+ if it is flickering.
  6. If the B+ voltage is flickering and you hear a clicking sound, try to hang the connection of the B+ to the fly-back then look at the reading if still flickered or stable. If the reading is stable when the B+ connection is hang. You have to replace the ply-back because it is shorted.
  7. And finally after you replace the ply-back.Power it ON.
Thank you for reading my tips.

What is a dmd on a mitsubishi 73" tv

Howdy Mike-d. here,
I do not know what a DMD is on a Mitsubishi 73'' TV.
I did do a little web searching and here is a couple of things I came across.

From this website: WD73833 ALL 4719-001997 DMD Chip, DLP, 1920X1080/XHD5, 0.65"/ DC4, TYPE X NON
I have no ties to these websites.
"I researched this and it was a DMD chip that needed to be replaced."
from this website:

Hope that helps.

Crackling noise on mitsubishi wd73833

I think it is safe to say that your lamp needs to be replace. The crackling that you here by the lamp is the Ballast striking, trying to turn the lamp on. It will try 3 or 4 times and then quit. Your Color Wheel is the other sound that you are hearing and is normal as well.

Picture is going dark to bright and making a clicking noise

Hi, sounds like you`ll need that tech again, your description sounds like a bad color wheel, if you let it continue and it shatters it can & probably will destroy your light tunnell, sorry for the bad news but now you know not to keep running the set, this is a very common problem with dlp`s and it`s exactly why we tell our customers not to purchase dlp`s, gl, video-tek

The tv seems really dark.57in theatrewide hd toshiba

Go into the tv menu and select the Preferences menu and set your picutre preference from Theater to Normal. The TV is currently in Theater mode, wich is for viewing with no lights on in the room. Switching it to normal lightens the pictue a lot.

Ultravision image dark

Good Day, tfarmer;

Since you have replaced the lamp, which is the normal cause for a dark picture. Have you checked your video settings?

The brightness level should be set at about 55 to 60%, the contrast should be set at about 90% and the video temp should be at normal or high.

If all these are set about this way, then I would think that the light engine might be going bad.

Good Luck, big IRISH.
