RCA Projection TV

My wife and I want to purchase a 50" RCA projection TV at the cost of $750.00. We just want to know why they sell them so cheap and are they still being manufactured? Are there more problems with this set then what it's worth. I just don't want to make a mistake. We are purchasing from a Wal Mart store.

That is the average price for a set like this. They no longer make these types of TV sets but this does not make it a bad thing to have. In my opinion and I am sure a lot of others, these sets are more reliable then the newer flat panel sets. As a mater of fact if you do not lay out a couple of grand for a plasma tV set, you will be spending between 200 and 500 bucks within a few years at most for a new bulb for the DLP and LCD set. Make sure you purchase the extended warranty on this set. Normally I would not recommend it, but in 4 years you might have a problem getting parts for this set and they will have to compromise with you. I have heard some peeps get new sets, Good Luck.

RCA 50: HDTV, just started shutting itself off and won't come back on for several minutes or over an hour what could cause this

My friend had the same problem. There is some display bulb that is on its way out. They aren't cheap. Find a 2nd hand TV parts/repair shop, They usually have cheap used ones from discarded units, and will know what you need!

Where can i sell my old tv? i have a pioneer sd-widescreen tv. i got it in 2003 ... i want to sell it, because i don't need it....

Due to the size and relating shipping costs, you should advertise locally. Either online or by print, which ever you are comfortable with. I wouldn't recommend offering delivery and ask for payment prior to the purchaser loading it (things happen... it's a big TV). Just my 2 cents, I hope it was helpful. Best wishes.

How much is the cheap mainboard for my tv

A main board if available will cost about US$500 - $700.00 BUT RCA will, usually, only sell to Authorised Dealer, the best bet may be to get a TV with a smashed screen, or a fault that does NOT involve the Main Board.eBay may help. But usually, you will still need sophisticated equipment to get it going, also a Service Manual is imperative.

Where can I get the front screens for my tv?

If you have to replace the linticular screen the cost will be prohibitive. The outer Plexiglas can be purchased at a hardware store although it will not have the glare reduction as most of the big screens have but it will work. Your best bet is to contact a tv repair shop and ask them if they have any toshiba 50" sets they are parting out and ask them for the cost of the screen. That may be your most cost effective way. I know if we had a customer to ask we would sell them one at a resonable price, but unfortuinatly our shop does not have any toshiba sets junked out. We have several sony's though.
