The tapping on the bottom of the screen does not work
I just bought the i730 on ebay, and everything works great except the tapping on the very bottom of the screen, which is very annoying and makes it hard to navigate... Is there anything I can do to fix that, or should I just return it and get a refund?
Re: The tapping on the bottom of the screen does not work
I took it into a Verizon store. The kid told me this happens enough to not be a rare occurence. Of course, this was a store where they only sold phones but didn't repair them, so I'll be going in to the other Verizon store (on the same street nevertheless) today.

You may have to do a major reset on it. First remove and replace the battery and turn it on again. If that doesn't fix it, there is a tiny reset button on the bottom near the connector. You will need to push it in with a small point such as a paper clip wire.
Sounds like some area in your screen will no longer connect. I lost about 1/8" of the right side of my screen. To run the calibration, I touched the screen left of where the dots appear. I had to tap the four dots about twenty times before it came out of calibration mode. That part of the display will probably never operate again.
same problem here. Certain areas on the bottom of the screen dont work at all. Other areas I have to tap the stylus 20 times or more an hopefuly it catches. I wont be buying another phone from samsung.
Well, I bought two A1200 that have the same problem but I bought them to use as modems. There is one thing that makes me believe that it is the digitizer, the phone works great, you can receive calls, use the camera etc. everything that works with the buttons. So I bought a touch screen in Ebay (about 10$) to get this fixed, if you want to do it by yourself take care, you need to solder the touch screen, this isn't very easy. If you want to go by the more secure solution buy a complete screen with touch screen (about 40$). You can find manuals searching in google.
I hope that info helped something.
if you do a search at pdaphonehome.com a guy has replaced his antenna and provided step by step instructions for how to do it yourself with pictures. I don't know if frying it can make sure getting a new antenna will fix that but thats something you can try before replacing.
