Kenmore dishwasher blinking light

I purchased it March of 2007. It gave us problems from the beginning. My dishwasher will halt in the middle of a wash cycle and the bottom two lights will blink next to the start/cancel button. In the past, I would continue to put it on wash several times before it completed a cycle. I've had 2 Sears repairmen out. First guy said he didn' t know what was wrong but keep a record. Second guy said it was b/c water didn't get hot quick enough. I resolved that problem. Now, my dishwasher completely stopped working altogether. It never completed the last cycle, and there is water in the bottom.

I have a solution. For Kenmore Dishwashers begining with model 587 and the flashing washing light.it will not start.
inside the front door there are two black and two white wires that lead to the handle. this connection is an on/off saftey for the door latch and if wet will short. The light is flashing because the machine thinks the door is open.

these connections on my machine are very loose. a needle nose pliers to tighten the crimps clean the prongs recconect hard reset at breaker box and you should be ready to go.
