Re: Samsum PLH403W service menu
Here is how you get to the service menu. Just be sure to write down anything you change in case you want to change it back.
1. TV turned off 2. Press 'Mute' then '182' then 'Power' buttons on the remote. You are now in the Adjustment mode
4. Use the 'Channel up'or"Channel dwn' to select the category. 5. Use the 'Volume up or dwn' to enter the category. note:Some models may not have Category Selection. 6. Use the 'Channel up or dwn' buttons to select item to be adjusted. 7. Write down the old value of the item before changing. 8. Use Volume up and down adjust the value. 9. When you have made all the adjustments you want turn the set off to exit.

I have a Samsung DLP HLN617WX/XAA. After turning off by itself, the three indicator lights were blinking... signifying a defective lamp. I've re-seated the old lamp several times with no change. I bought a new lamp and reset the lamp hours through the "service menu" with no change. My television is still turning itself off and still blinking the same indicator lights. What should I look at, next?
You may try to get into the service menu and adjust screens/drives level(procedure below).
But first turn the color off completely and adjust you brightness to mid-range, what you`ll want to do is a grey raster or bring it as black and white as you can while adjusting the red/green /blue guns or tubes.
Also get a piece of paper and pen because you`ll want to record the original values of the items you may change.
You want to go into the adjustment menu.
Hope this will help Good luck
In quick sequence on the remote press: MUTE - 1 - 8 - 2 - POWER buttons.
The TV will turn On with the Service Menu displayed. ADJUSTMENT - TEST PATTERN - SET OPTION BYTE - FACTORY RESET
Select the function and use the VOL+ button to enter. Save settings and exit by pushing MUTE twice then POWER .
Do not automatically think you need to go into the service menu. I bet you 100 to 1 that you pulled out a plug or a connector somewhere OR one is not seated into the plug all the way. If the set worked with color before you messed with it, there is not a problem in the service menu. The service menu is not the fix all thing. it is there to make fine alignments and adjustments, and as a matter of fact, messing with a service menu even with the service manual is very dangerous. I have seen peeps ruin TV sets by messing around with the service menu alignments. STAY out of these alignments. they are not going to fix a problem that all of a suddenly comes up. Repair the problem in the circuit first. Good Luck
You have something wrong in the eeprom, more than likely an option code, you will need someone with experience and trained on Samsungs to correct this, it was probably caused by either someone who shouldnt have been in the service menu or possibly by a close lightning strike, either way call a repairman.
