Question about Harman Kardon AVR 510 Receiver
Have an AVR 510 that is about 5 years old. No change in any set up or any equipment the last year or so. Last night turned on (first time in about 5 days) and no sound from any component except the fm tuner. Checked all connectors etc. all OK; everything seems to be functioning. Disconnected power for 5 minutes: no change. Have not done a full reset. Any ideas/thoughts? Bryan Wadie
Hello. My name is Dave. The tuner is only a 2 channel device. All the other inputs, are capable of surround sound. You should have, on the back of the unit, a 5 channel, or multi-channel input, 5 female RCA jacks. If you have any unit with a variable output, you can test the surround channels directly, by plugging into any of the channels, switch the unit to mult-channel mode, with the volume down on the unit you are connecting to these jacks. See if it now works. If is does, you have issues with the DSP board. If you still don't, you may have amplifiers bad. Multiple amplifiers bad would be highly unlikely.

Are there any MUTE or Tape Monitor buttons pushed in?
