It Turns Off!

Hi, when I turn on the PSP and go to the game, the beginning of the game starts with the credits and everything but the whole things just turns off afterwards. I can go into the main menu and everything but as soon as I try to start the game, it turns off. Every now and then I can get back into it but not whenever I want.

Am I doing something wrong?

When it turns off, does it takes time to turn on again? because it must mean that something must be overheating... how old is the device?
because the other thing could be the battery.. test with another battery

When i turn on my psp the green light will come on but the screen won't come on and then a few seconds later the green light will shut off completely.

Hi tokyo_grl,
First you have to figure out what is causing the problem. Try the following steps.

1. Remove anything that is connected to the PSP, including the
Memory Stick, battery and any UMD games.
2. Plug the charger into both the wall and the PSP system, then wait for at least 30 seconds before turning the psp on.
--If the PSP turns on, your problem is not with your PSP, but with an accessory that was previously attached. If it does not turn on, your PSP is in need of a repair.
3. Next, unplug the power adapter from the PSP, and firmly place the battery into the PSP.
4. Plug in the Power Adapter once again, and wait at least 30 minutes for the PSP to begin charging, then try and power on the PSP system.
--If the PSP does not power on with the battery plugged in, but it did with just the charger, you need a new battery. If it powers on, do the next step.
5. Place the Memory Stick inside the PSP , and turn on the power. If the PSP does not turn on, but it turned on without the memory, you need a new memory stick.

If your PSP did not turn on during step 2, your PSP is bricked and indeed needs to be repaired by a qualified technician. I hope everything works out for you. Good luck.

Psp failed to update mlb 09 and now the screen is froze.

take off the battery and try again. If this doesn't help then the copy of the mlb game is defective.

Or you can just update your PSP through your computer (if you have internet)

My psp dosen't work well

have you modded the psp in anyway? are you trying to use homebrew apps? if you are trying to use a umd and you have modified anything other than stock then you need to clock your psp back to the factory level because the voltage is dropping too low from the umd reader activating and the strain the cpu is putting on the battery you could also try resetting everything to factory defaults afterall this is what the games are designed for

How do i reset my whole psp? even if it wont turn on

Hi there, Please turn off your psp. Before it turns on please hold on "R button". After that you will see a black screen. Please choose configuration, then choose "VSH MENU" (it should be enabled). Choose exit afterwards. Automatically your psp will reset. It will reboot.

From then you can have your psp reset anytime your psp was on. Simply push "select button" and choose reset. That's it!

What firmware you have? Try resetting the entire system. Also, try downgrading the system. It may just be the case of a faulty Firmware or so...
