- Hi,I have this same problem on an Aspire 1641 LCI trying to complete a disk swap and rebuild without the Acer rebuild disks.
The network adapter is most likely the wireless, and the PCI is the modem - I've been able to get that far, but none of the Acer XP drivers seem to work.
Any ideas?

I went to acer website and found the driver download section:

This is the only 1640 I could find:

Hi,
Your drivers are available here. Probably the unknown PCI device is a modem.
Hope this be of help. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
