ddr2 has more pins and much longer than ddr...if your ram does not fit the memory slot in your motherboard...let say the memory slot in your motherboard is shorter than the ram, then it is a ddr memory...most of the motherboard are ddr compatible actually only few brands has the ddr2 slot...

    goodluck!

Model type & number of 512mb or 1gb ram memory for

There are many different specifiactions for RAM.
Firstly is it Desktop or Notebook RAM that you are looking for.

Below is a list of RAM specifiactions:
DDR
DDR2
DDR3

Now these RAM specifiacations run at different clock speeds.

For example:
DDR 400MHz
DDR2 800MHZ
DDR3 1333MHz

What I need you to do is to tell me the following:
What is it to be used for, Desktop or Notebook/Laptop?
What is written on the RAM modules? You may need to remove one from your computer or use a software program like CPU-Z to check what it is you are running in your computer.

I am owning a AMD Sempron 2400+ desktop.which is having DD ram of 608mb.in 2 slots.( one 512mb and the other 128mb ).When I looked at the board, there are 2 slots only indicating DDR! &DDR2. Now I want...

DDR (or DDR1) and DDR2 modules look similar, but the keying notch is in a different place. This figure shows the two types so you can identify which you currently have:

The type of memory used is determined by the motherboard. The markings on your board are just labels for DDR module 1 and DDR module 2; you will need to check the picture to determine what type memory you need to purchase. I suspect you will need DDR1, since DDR2 is a more recent type. A Sempron system will probably be an older board.

You can find specifications for the type and amount of RAM the motherboard will support at the manufacturer's website. If the computer is a consumer brand such as HP or Dell, go to their website and follow the links to the support and downloads page. If this is a custom or home-built computer, you can get information from the motherboard maker's site.

What is the hidhest ram i can use on a celeron 2.6

Hi. The amount of memory that can be installed is limited by the motherboard, not the CPU. That being said, the motherboard you have listed will take the following memory:

Each memory slot can hold DDR PC2700,DDR PC3200 with a maximum of 1GB per slot.

I just want to know if my current motherboard can

Even without any way to check the specs of your motherboard with the current information, the board will most likely have at least 2 slots available for additional memory (i am assuming by memory you mean RAM), and will support DDR, PC-3200. If you have two slots, then you're looking at a limit of 2Gb (2x1GB PC3200) because DDR modules don't get any bigger than 1Gb as far as i've seen. If you have 4 slots, then a total of 4Gb.

What is DDR2 graphic cards ? help

Let's make this clear, There are many factors that contribute to a videocard's performance. The BUS which is the connection from the card itself to the Motherboard , though not the most important, is one of them.
PCI is extremely slow compared to PCI express and a videocard with PCI bus suffers from a strong bottleneck that makes it quite unsuitable for 3D graphics.
a PCI card is good as second display adapter to connect extra monitors to your pc: handy feature for data monitoring and multitasking but not that much as a gaming card.
Your motherboard does not have an AGP slot, but also has an Intel integrated graphic chip, so a PCI Nvidia 9400 will be quite a big upgrade, but don't expect high gaming performance...
furthermore Graphic memory speed has a big impact on performance, but size does not.512MB DDR2 is a big but slow memory and 1GB I can say it's totally useless, you need to use a resolution way over full HD to take advantage of it, but a PCI card performs really bad on that.

HELP with with Intel celeron d 325

Phew, k3! A ton of questions and even more confusion going on here!

Firstly (love that non-word), your Motherboard accepts DDR Ram. Unfortunately, DDR2 will not be compatible. Won't work. Sorry. It does accept up to 2gb of DDR Ram, though.

Second, for Graphic Card slots, it has 3 x PCI slots (NOT PCI-Express), which are great for G-Cards. Maximum amount of memory won;t be affected by your MB, but by your processor and ram. As long as it has a PCI slot for a PCI card, you'll be good. Just be sure to turn off integrated graphics in BIOS settings.

Thirdly, good luck. Opening up the side of your PC can be daunting at first. Ensure you either have the patience to learn before you touch or have the money to continue learning as you go. >.o
