It sounds like there's a problem between the power cord and the vacuum cleaner itself. Remove the power cord check the connection at the vacuum cleaner and see if something came unconnected

Hi, my dc07 cleaner has developed a very high pitch screech its not a constant sound but intermittent and last for a second or two and is very unpleasent, its a loud cleaner anyway but this noise is so...

hi.
it sounds like the bearings in the motor are worn out. the only solution is to change the motor, or the entire hoover. motors are available from ebay for about £35 and it will then need to be fitted. unfortunately these bearings do wear out eventually. once they start to make screeching noises like this, there is not much life left in them, and they will get worse rapidly.
if you decide to change the motor yourself, please feel free to ask for more details on how to do it.
hope this helps

Belt keeps breaking after only short use on vacum cleaner

Each vacuum cleaner manufacturer produces specific belts for specific machines. An incompatible belt installed on the vacuum cleaner will cause the belt to break or burn. The belt must be installed according to manufacturer directions for best performance, or the belt will chafe against the interior housing parts and break prematurely.Sharp debris, a low height adjustment setting or vacuuming up rug corners may cause the rubber belt to snap or wear prematurely. Check the height adjustment for the vacuum, and use a higher setting for plush rugs. Avoid vacuuming sharp objects and corners of the rug.

Bearing screeching?

Hello,
Yes, it could be a motor bearing. Another possibility is the fan could be broken. Remove the bottom plate from vacuum. Spin the belt motor pulley slowly and view the fan. You may have a plastic fan that has broken or something is keeping the fan from spinning. Here are links with illustrations to an online guide. (the links will say "belts" but it will show how to get to the fan). Click the one that best matches your vacuum.
Hope this helps.

Electrolux ambassdor will not run after pluggen in

Greeting from GoVacuum,

On all Electrolux canister vacuum cleaners, there is a kill switch, that will not allow the machine to turn on without a bag in it. Sometimes when replacing the bag, the bag is placed in a position where the switch is not being activated.

When you open the bag housing, it should look like this;

You'll notice in the bottom right corner of the bag housing, the kill switch to the vacuum cleaner.

Try plugging the vacuum cleaner in, and while you are pressing this kill switch down, turn on the vacuum cleaner. Does the vacuum cleaner turn on/off when you push/release the kill switch? If it does, simply just get a new bag, and make sure that the new bag is covering the kill switch, and close the door of the vacuum cleaner.

If it still doesn't start, let me know and I'll try to help you diagnosis the machine differently. I'd say that 6 out of 10 times, this kill switch is the problem.

I hope this helps you. Please email me with any questions, or if this fix doesn't make your vacuum work. I really enjoy sharing my passion, and expertise in repairing vacuum cleaners.
