Lines in picture

The entire picture appeasrs to have faint vertical lines that appear to pulse sparaticly

You may have to re-adjust the screen drive. It sounds as though it may be just a bit high. If it's not that, you may be getting a bad picture tube. I hope this has helped in some way.

Check the input connections. If Ariel connection, or other video input connection from any external source have loose contact, or wire broken, this type of interference can occur to picture.

Panasonic ctp2780sf no picture faint line going vertical across screen


There are two reasons for this fault. A fault smoothing capacitor at the video output voltage rail, or excess of screen voltage. These lines are called 'vertical retrace lines' technically. During dark scenes or solid black picture, faint vertical lines can be seen across the entire screen. Have had tv for two months.


It is under warranty, have it check before warranty runs out ASAP because you do not want to have something else goes wrong either.

We have a 40" bravia


This sounds like a defective T-Con board. I recommend having it looked at by a professional.

When I turned the tv on only vertical lines appeared
