My Helix hangs...

Hi
My Samsung Helix hangs and on the display it only says: "scanning files" with about 20% completed.

Is there any way to reset the device...(without erasing my personal data and audio tracks)

How to reset a trio T4300HD-8GB

Try and see if you can reset . If this wont work it is possible that the memory of the player has corrupt files and makes the processor hang up . You might try to connect the player to the PC and remove the files , then reset and reload the safe files which are scanned for virus.
if this wont help then you need to take consensus from service.

No Sound at all!!! tried reset and upgrade software. Worked fine yesturday now no sound in headphones or from speaker. Please Help!

Try to reset once again. if detected on the PC check and scan for corrupt files. There is a posibility that the corrupt files had made the player hang up. So repeat the process, move the files from the player and copy only approved files.

You need to reset the player as it is possible that the GO Gear has hung up. Also please check if the files that are int he player are the converted files and are not corupt so as to hang up the player.
Look for the reset pin-hole to press into for reset.

About two weeks ago my n96 screen started to go completely blank but would come back to life after some time, but now it went completely black blank since yesterday and hasnt lit upsince then

The phone has hung up because there are errors in the software. So to reset remove the battery and the memory card from the phone. Using your PC , scan the memory card for any corrupt files or media files with virus- it is possible when they are downloaded from unsafe sites. If so remove or format the card. Now replace the card and battery and switch on the phone. If the phone hangs up then it is confirmed that the software is corrupt and will need a reinstallation.

try to format with the following link

While switching on the mp3 player... it been hanging.... refresh database error

Reset the sansa by pressing on the reset on the device , this is usually a small pin hole through which an office pin can be put in and pressed.
Now connecct your player to the PC and scan for virus, copy out all the files and format, the reinstall safe files.
The player will work fine.

Suddenly, my YP-K3 Samsung music player is not turning on. I've tried to do a hard reset on this. Like, keeping the reset button on hold for 30 seconds but still, it won't work. I tried to reset it for so...

You may need to upgrade the firmware to fix it so try this. To Upgrade Firmware 1 Connect to http://www.samsung.com, select [SUPPORT] [DOWNLOAD CENTER] and then select your player. Future upgrades may be available for this player to enhance performance and compatibility. 2 When the player page appears, select [Firmware] below the model name to download the latest firmware. 3 Uncompress the downloaded file onto your Desktop. The uncompressed files will be displayed. 4 Connect the player to your PC with the USB cable. 5 Right click on the Start button on the bottom left of your PC's screen, then choose Explore to Open Windows Explorer on your PC. [Samsung YP-K3] is displayed in Windows explorer. Hope this helps.

My fm radio stopped working on my creative zen vision, and the display is all messed up. It also freezes for about 20 minutes when I turn it on. After 20 minutes, it will play normal, but it freezes...

Support for Zen Vision M on this site:

One of the Knowledgebase Solutions for "freezing" gives this answer:

Player is Freezing
Keywords / Key Phrases: freeze, freezes, freezing, hang, hanging, freezes at creative logo, at docked screen, rebuilding library screen, playing audio files, switching to other functions or menus while shutting down, freezes at recovery mode, freezing at music playing now screen

  1. Gently push the end of a thin object (such as a pin or straightened paperclip) into the Reset hole.
The reset button for your player is located at the bottom of the player, to the left of the sync adapter port.

  2. Refer to the article below to access the recovery mode and perform a Clean Up.

SID 64088: Accessing the Recovery/Rescue Mode of your Player

    Note:

    1. Clean Up scans a player\'s hard disk/memory card and removes any invalid links from the music library. It does not affect the working music files at all. It is recommended that you perform "Clean Up" first before formatting or reloading the player\'s firmware.

    2. It is advisable for you to clean up your player regularly if you are frequently transferring files from you computer to your player or vice versa.

Stuck in "Recovery Mode"

Detach your player from the PC if it is connected, and turn off the player.
If the player stops responding, you can reset the player. To reset the player, gently
insert a thin object into the Reset hole located below the power switch.

2. Press and hold the Play button while powering on your player.

3. When the player displays the Creative logo, release the Play button.
It will display the following options:
Clean Up
Scans the player and removes invalid links from its music library.
Does not affect music files themselves.
Format (All)
Caution! Erases all content!
Save a copy of your player's content before formatting.
Reload OS/ Firmware
Caution! Erases your player's firmware.
DO NOT select the Reload Firmware option unless you have access to a PC and you have downloaded the necessary firmware to install.
Reboot Reboots the device.

I actually had this exact problem a little while ago with my Zen Sleek-- Booting straight to the Recovery menu, and only getting a generic "Harddisk problem" error screen any time I would try to do anything.
