My light bulbs keep burning out prematurely on my garage door opener.

I have tried replacing the bulbs with heavy duty ones but this did not solve the problem. Someone suggested that i might have a problem with the logic board. Can this be repaired? My model number is 139.18470.

Less that 2 year old opener. First, bulb on one side would burn out prematurely. Then both sides would burn out. I have tried replacing the bulbs with heavy duty bulbs but this did not solve the problem. My model number is 139.53985D.

I have the same problem on my Craftsman garage door opener. The light bulb goes out after about one month. Tried heavy-duty opener bulbs, temperature and vibration resistant appliance bulbs, and vibration resistant ceiling fan bulbs.

Same problem. Tried vibration-resistant bulbs for garage openers, appliance bulbs, and ceiling fan bulbs, no difference.

I have had this problem with my 2 yr old Chamberlan Liftmaster, and I think that the socket is defective or something. The bulb isn't burning out, but seems to be jiggling, vibrating, or wiggling itself loose somehow. It appears burnt out, then I screw it in tighter and turns on and subsequently the process repeats itself a month later. Do these match your symptoms?

I have replaced light bulbs, but now when I replaced them, they still won't work. Is something broken somewhere else?

I tried a REVEAL(brand) 40 WATT DOUBLE LIFE CEILING FAN LIGHT BULB , and almost two months later it still works. It is sold at Home Depot in Illinois. The filament is much thicker than any of the other heavy-duty bulbs I have tried, and that seems to be the difference. The REVEAL bulb is the only one I have tried that has lasted this long.

Use a REVEAL brand DOUBLE LIFE ceiling fan bulb. The filament is much thicker than any other bulb I have tried, and so far it hasn't failed after over 3 months of constant use, even compared to 'heavy-duity' and 'vibration resistant' lamps, which only lasted 3 weeks or less. I purchased a 40 watt set of two bulbs from Home Depot in Illinois.

The cause of the need to replace these bulbs is due to the movement of the garage door opener whilst in operation, if you think that a standard filament bulb suffers from no movement or vibration when the bulb is spiked by the power when switched on in a house; but when the garage door opens and the light is illuminated there is considerable vibration on the fillament from the door opener, thus causing it to break. The answer is: to use a bulb which contains LED's. it solved it for me.

This is a logic board issue. You can purchase a replacement one at searspartsdirect.com. Enter in your model number and a parts list will come up. This is a fairly easy install, make sure and unplug the unit first. You will have to reprogram the remotes. Thanks BB

SOURCE: My light bulbs keep burning out prematurely on my garage door opener.

I had a similar problem on my Liftmaster units made by Chamberlin. I would leave the garage door open for hours during the day so our dog and children can enter the house through our garage and laundry room. Everytime they come into the garage the Light's would go on because of the safety sensors are "tripped" at the bottom of the garage door tracks.
I turned off this feature and my lights are lasting much longer now. Over 1year in fact. To turn off and on this feature, make sure the opener light is off, then Press and Hold the Light Switch on the Wall Control Until for about 10 seconds till the light goes off. This deactivates this sensor from turning the lights on, but does NOT deactivate the sensor for Stopping the door if something is under it. Safety is still preserved.
Additionally, my door opener would vibrate while operating, and need to be aligned - I did this and also prevented the bulbs from "shaking". As we know the light bulb filaments are brittle especially after some use - this I think also helped lengthen the life of my lights on the opener.

I bought timer model #402A. It says 1250 watts tungsten rated. Here is my question: I have a demhumifier that draws 1800 watts-can I use the timer and what does 1250watts tungsten mean? Thank you.

1250 watt tungsten: Tungsten is the tungsten filament in light bulb.
So 402A timer is rated for light bulb only and not dehumidifier motor load.
1800 watt dehumidifier will burn 402A timer, and could start a fire.
I suggest Intermatic heavy-duty appliance timer HB113C:

How to change the light bulb

Hi

Not all bulbs will fit your refrigerator. Be sure to replace the bulb with one of the same size, shape and wattage. On some models, the dispenser light requires a heavy duty 10-watt bulb. All other lights require a 40-watt bulb.

1. Unplug or disconnect power from your refrigerator.

2. Remove light shield when applicable.
NOTE: To clean the ligt shield, wash it with warm water and liquid detergent. Be sure to dry the shield thoroughly before installing.

3. Remove the light bulb and replace it with the same size, shape and wattage.

4. Replace light shield when applicable.

My printer massage show open heat error.

what brand is your printer? Others may heat up if there not intended for a heavy usage like the deskjet. The proper way is to use a heavy duty printer that can support a high duty cycle, like laserJets. HP have the best laserjet ever made.

The lightbulb in the unit burns out quickly, every 4-6 weeks. I have Lift Master 1/3 H.P. FCC ID #HBW1127, Part #41A4252-7D

You can buy bulbs designed for garage door openers. They are heavier duty. Also you should unplug the unit and remove the light bulb. Pull out on the center contact of the socket. Replace the bulb and plug the unit in.

Replacement bulb only lights for a day and then burns out again

There are heavy duty/rough service bulbs you can buy at the hardware store that are made to withstand the vibrations. You might also try unplugging the opener and removing the light bulb. Use a screwdriver to reach down to the center contact in the light socket and pull out. That will increase the tension on the bulb somewhat.
