4 Blink 9 out of 10 times is your lamp fan. Check and make sure it clean and free of debrey. Spin it and see if there is any grinding noise. If after you clean and reassemble and the set still shuts down, either replace the lamp fan or check your outher 3 fans as well.

5 blinks means there is a problem with the video board. It could be as simple as unplugging everything, includding power. Wait 3 minutes then plug power only back in. Or it may be a damaged component that requires replacing.

Hi,
4 times red standby light indicates problem with exhaust fan that is not running for some reason.
Recheck fan that you replaced and make sure its connector is plugged properly and it running freely.
4 times red light blinking is fan error in this tv.

Red light blinking 4 times on Sony bravia TV.This is the problem of INVERTER BOARD.The inverter board has to be replaced.Every Sony bravia tv has a particular model number and the Inverter board part number depends on model number of the tv. As you have not mentioned the model number so the exact part number of the inverter board is hard to tell.But you can get the required inverter board part for your tv from www.partstore.com ----------- Thanks. Press and hold the sink button then press the eject button 4 time
and note the 4 digit code .
4 blinking reds = 0 3 blinking Reds = 3 2 blinking reds= 2 1 blinking red=1

The code doesn't relay matter ,the problem is broken solder connections.
under the G.P.U 90% of the time , and that chip need to be re-flowed.

4 times blink error shows that any FAN is not running in TV as there are 4 fans in this TV.
Please check fan connectors and make sure all are plugged securely.

tv shuts off for no reason...red light blinks 4 times ...stops...blinks 4 times....stops....etc....what can i do before taking it back??

The blinking red light at the the front of the television is the "Diagnostic STANDBY/TIMER LED".
This little red light will blink 2, 4, or 5 times and then stay off for three-seconds. And blink again for 2, 4, or 5 times. This cycle repeats. The most common diagnostic code is the 4-blink code.

When the red LED blinks 4-times, it means one of two possible causes:
1) +13V is not supplied on the A-board. Or, 2) IC502 is faulty.

It is best to take this television set to a repair facility and ask that the +13V power supply be repaired.
The copper tracks and integrated circuit pads are very thin and delicate on the KV-24FV12 circuit board, and will easily lift off of the circuit board, if the incorrect desoldering tool is used. Unless one has a good quality PACE vacuum desoldering unit, one should not attempt to repair the television.
