Question about Microsoft Windows XP Professional With Servise Pack 2 (e8503040) for PC
I didnt mean to insult you .. i just dont understand the solution is all..im sorry...san you please help me step by step... i dont get it when you say to logoff then press ctrl+alt+dlt......twice and then type on...please explain to me step by step...
I think I understand you shakeylooney.
You are currently using Windows Vista edition operating system. There is more than one user running the computer & each user has their own Icon & user name. When you click your Icon what comes up next is windows wants your password. Once done windows continues into Vista with your personal settings loaded. Now, what you want to do is install Windows XP Professional with SP2 because you do not like windows Vista edition.
You need to understand that changing from windows Vista to Win XP Pro is considered a down grade according to windows.
It will not let you install XP Pro ontop of Vista.
When your PC boots to the Win Pro CD you will have to format the hard drive first just to get Professional to install. That means the drive will be completly erased. If you need certain data like address book. Favorits & programs with data in them I suggest you burn them to a CD first. If not than continue.
With your computer running put the windows XP Pro CD into your cdrom drive. Restart the computer. Just as your computer begains to start press the F8 key on the keyboard every 2 seconds. Whats called a boot menue will come up. This allows you to pick where you want windows to boot from. Pick the cdrom drive where Win Pro is. The CD will begain to install windows. It will see Vista & ask you want you want to do. Though it may suggest a repair, do not do that. It will fail. You want to Format the drive. It will list 2 types of Format. Quick or Full, pick Quick. Win XP Pro will than get down & install windows Pro edition. You did not mention what type your computer is. When Pro has finished you will most likely need drivers for the PC.
