Nope. Sorry but you have to choose one or the other. I wasn't happy with it at first, but now when I go to my friends house and he has surround sound and the TV speakers going it just doesn't sound right. You don't get the true effect of the surround sound system.

Just try to get used to it and you will appreciate it in the long run.

Jvc television no sound

There are to components to be suspected. Its speaker, and audio output IC. If speaker has any internal disconnection occurs, to its voice coil connection braid wire, the said fault can occur intermittently. If the audio output IC's contact between its heat sink has a screw loose, it will overheat after some time, and will shut down. It will work, after some time the set has been switched OFF. If there is any loose solder terminals to the audio output IC, this fault can occur. Just check these.

I have a 37 inch sansui flat screen television model # HDLCD 3700. The sound just quit working; the picture is fine? Is thier any trouble shooting that can be done?

Please unplug TV from AC wall socket for couple of minutes, replug back in and turn it On and check sound.
If problem still exist, check internal speakers are enable / ON in Menu.
If speakers are ON and yet no sound, then need to check sound at Audio Out jacks at back of TV, hook audio cable (white-red rca pins) in audio out jack in TV and receiver/ amplifier to get TV sound in receiver/ amplifier speakers. This is a test/ check and you can use it to get TV sound through receiver speakers.
And if still no sound in audio out jacks in TV then TV needs main board replacement. Check with local TV repair shop for that.
Thanks.

Speakers

Hello vickiesbrown,

Yes you can, locate the external speaker jacks and plug your speaker plug into the jack. They are usually color coded.
Green (Speaker out) Pink (Microphone In) Blue (audio in),

You will be using the Green stereo jack to connect to your speakers.

I hope this helps,

No sound from a Philips model 60P8341...

Hello Jarvis1,

This is an indication that the actual sound output is working, but the amplifiers to the speakers are not. How you could take care of this is to check in there are any loose connections to the speakers. Then check if you have sound coming from the leads of the output stereo amplifier (You will need the schematic and an audio tracer/tracker to find this location and test for sound). I would venture that there would be no sound from the amplifier. If not you will have to replace the amplifier chip. I would suggest getting a qualified TV technician to perform this task. If you do have sound at the output of the strereo amplifier chip, then it might be a case of the earphone jack switch being broken, let me explain when you plug in your earphone the speakers are disconnected by a switch in the earphone jack if this switch is broken it could disable the speakers and produce these results. There is also the possibility that you have the speaks disabled from the menu of your TV (check this too, actually check this first).

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

Find out what audio output jacks your tv has then find out what audio input jacks your audio amp has and match them up with the proper cable(s).

Don't understand why, perhaps rca contracted microsoft for their programming, but when I unplugged the TV and it rebooted, everything is fine. I still am concerned about the warning on the back.
