Nitrotrike; I've checked out the gear it seams to be working good. When i move the magnification to 2.0 and back to 0.50 the hole assembly moves back and forth. When i move the 2.0 the copy is clear but only part of the copy is being seen. When mag is set at 1.95 the copy is burred.??????? Any other ideals i should try..skiingbob

The 1015 / 1120 were prone to the lens drive gear cracking, and not holding to the shaft.

Sometimes you will get a lens initializing error, sometimes you wont.

But this is most likely the problem.

If the gear isn't totally cracked in half, super glue will get you by for a few days, but you will need a new gear.

    OK, thats a start.

First off, good job on the troubleshooting!

The next step is the 4th mirror - this and the lens both move when in reduction / enlargement mode. You can count the mirrors in the order at which the image would be reflected from the exposure lamp - 1st mirror is where the lamp is, 2nd/3rd v-mirror, the lens, then the 4th mirror and so on. I believe the 4th mirror is right above the drum on that model.

Somewhere along its movable range, it is binding. It is located next to the lens, and if memory serves me right (it's been a while since I've even seen one of those), it is spring loaded. You should see it once you take the black lens cover off.

I don't recall if it used a slide pad, or a lubricated shaft of some sort. Just clean off excess grease, then clean off any remaining residue with rubbing alcohol, and use a THIN coat of Vaseline, etc to re-lubricate both sides of the culprit.

NOTE - If I recall, there's also a black "flap" that many people position incorrectly when re-installing the lens cover - just to forewarn you. If you try to install it in the wrong position, the cover won't fit correctly - don't force it. The 'flap' goes on the INSIDE of the lens cover.

    Keep me posted.

Nitrotrike, thanks i'll try this monday..also when i enlarge the copy it comes out clear.. maybe the shaft could be out of adjustment..i didn't see a crack on the linse when i cleaned it...

Blurred section on copies.

When looking at your copy is the 1/3rd that is blurry at the top of the page with the bottom 2/3rd's being fine? Or is the 1/3rd that is bad go up and down the right or left side? I am trying to determine if the defect runs up and down the pade as you look at the copy or is it "across" the top or bottom of the page.

Copier worked fine, I transported it and now the copies blur.

On a similar rebadges machine i had the same problem. IT turned out being that the LSU glass had come slightly unglued and fell back into the machine what caused all the copies to be skewed and blurred. I'd give that a go first.

Canon PC921 copier has blurry section on copy

what you probably brushed over was the transfer roller(black and spongy?). first try running 20 or 30 blank copies through the machine. If that doesnt work take a dry paper towel and gently wipe and rotate that black roller. that should take care of the problem. If the roller needs replaced you should have a technician do it. You could break the machine beyond repair.

Grinding noise crooked copies machine shakes

This won't be solved without a technician I'm afraid. It sounds to me like the fuser drive gears are worn ( it could be just about anywhere though), but this would account, in many cases, for the crooked , blurred print. whatever the case, there are gears worn, or seized, and in need of replacement. I would recommend calling for service asap, becuse this type of problem will only get worse and could cause further damage to the surrounding drive system the more it is used.

Blurry bottom 2 inches of copy from IR 1600

Take a Normal, reduction and an enlarged copy(at any ratio) of a Newspaper in different size papers. Then check whether the blurred position is at the same position or not.If it is at the same position, check scanner for its free movement, there may be an obstacle which will not allow the scanner to move freely resulting in blurred copy. or else let me know.

KONICA 7020 - Blank copy

I have never heard of a developer moving backwards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???
the motor that runs it, the .... there is too much involved to mention. A developper moving backwards will spill so much toner in the machine anyway.
If you get a copy and then it goes blank, that tells me you have a problem with the SEPERATION UNIT, it may be shorting out causing the paper to rise against the drum giving you blank copies.
A blurr copy tells me there is a problem with the Scanner/Optics area. maybe the rails that the scanner run on are too dry or has a problem, the optics(mirrors) may be misaligned.
Not sure what you mean by (hanging) ??
