Blinking Standby Light

kv 32hs420 stby light blinks 7x no picture/sound

KV32hs500 tv won't turn on. Standby light blinks 7 times, stops and then 7 more times, etc.. The tv will usually come on after about 2 hours or so of being off. Plays fine when on but once it gets turned off the problem happens again. Any suggestions? T.V. is 5 years old.
I have a similar problem . mine blinks 6 times or 7 sometimes also,and comes on with sound ,no picture for about 2 seconds then shuts off. Anything?

There's a particular kind of chip Shindengen MCZ3001D , which fails. Its on many kv32 and kv36 wega sony TVs. There are 2 soldered on a "D-board" and another on the "A-board." Service people say its impossible to tell which one has gone without replacing. $400 service charge. The entire D-board is often replaced- $100 part. A hobbyist can replace chips, better to do it with a $10-20 MCZ3001DB or the Hitachi equivilent.
