My guess is that the television has been dropped or opened/taken apart which tripped a tamper switch. It my be as simple as finding this switch somewhere on the inside of the tv, and resetting it or shorting the wires to bypass it, or it may be a situation where once the tamper switch is tripped, the tv shuts down forever. I wouldn't recommend opening the tv yourself. They store enough power to kill you, even when it's been unplugged for a while.
Yes, there are a few options for new remotes for this unit. You can find several of them at the "order parts" option found at the bottom of www.bestbuy.com. In fact there is an option to purchase the unit that matched up directly with your television
which is RRMCG1330PESA!
If you have a universal remote you have to hold the button that says toggle or a button equilivent to that for five seconds than the tamper proof light will turn off than you can you tv on I had to figure this out on my own.
I looked this set up, and Unfortanatly there is no universal remote that will unlock the set and also theres no way to do it without the original remote. Sorry to be the one with bad news. Also the right remote is available at 1-800-remotes or http://www.remotes.com for about 52 bucks + shipping. Good Luck
