Dell 546 desk top. No audio from external speakers. Downloaded driver. No help. Any ideas?

If you are using Windows, try going in the the Device or Hardware manager and removing the device. Then, look on the menu bar at the top to rescan for hardware changes. Sometimes this is the best option. I am assuming that the speakers work, but, I would plug in a set of headphones to be sure. Also, sounds dumb, but ensure that you are not plugging the speakers into the mic jack (microphone) or the line-out jack (low level output) instead of the headphone jack.

My dell inspiron 546's monitor has gone dark the screen is still visable but really dark how do i make it bright again i already tried the brightness and contrast on monitor

It might be that the CFL lighting tubes on your monitor have failed, in which case they need to be replaced. Borrow a screen to try on your computer to test if it is in actual fact the your screen that is faulty. This is normally fixed by a computer technician! If it is under warranty return it!

How do I insert a new CD? where is the slot? How do I make it open?

there isn't one on this machine, you can have one installed at your local electronice or computer place or get an external drive that will sit on your desk or something and plug into your computer through a usb port.

My friend owns a dell inspiron 1545 that is less than a year old, but whenever she goes on the internet it randomly goes into hibernation and she has to log back in. She's tried doing system restore but it...

right click on open area on the desk top. Go to properties - screen saver - power monitor - go to the hibernate tab - uncheck enable hibernation - click apply then ok.

Hi receiving input not supported

This message shows that you are not setting the resolution correctly.

When you are in Windows, click on - Control panel - Display - Setting - Screen Resolution (set yo 1280 x 1024). then click ok.

Your floating box will gone.

I got the same problem and got the solution from [email protected].

Hope this will help you.
