Comment by honda_macc, posted on Jan 31, 2008 Hi..i tried the above solutions to no avail. HOWEVER....i have been able to get it to work sort of.. Heres the details:

I currently am working on a large yacht....where i have been able to get the webcam to work before....BUT the other day i went out to the marina and picked up a wireless signal from the hotel and the webcam WORKED!!!! Soooooooooo:

-i know the webcam AND msn do work.......
-it has to be some setting in my local wireless connection to the boat.
-it has to be a setting in MY computer, because other crew on my boat can use their webcams
-if it helps...for some reason i cant connect to my music dl site either??

Can ANYONE PLEEEEEEEEASE help...i can also offer more information if needed.

Thanks
Scott

It's not a driver problem based on the fact it works with other applications. Since it won't work with Messenger my strong suspicion is that's your culprit (Messenger)....even though it worked before.

Uninstall and try it again. When you uninstall make sure you delete any folders found in "Widows Explorer" that are under program files (not in Windows itself....or at least not at this point). Make sure you are using the latest version by the way since you are going to install it again anyway.

As to why it did not work you might want to check the Microsoft knowledge base...(there can be some sort of a conflict particularly if you updated software, downloaded patches, installed a new application, whatever).

If this doesn't work...run your antivirus and Spybot search and destroy on the entire drive. If you are not running an antivirus AVAST or AVG are both excellent (and free as is Spybot.)

Let me know if this does not work....odds are it will. Tango

are you using a firewall or even using windows built in firewall?
right click on your lan card > properties > Advance click on settings
    add ports

well i would suggest getting Zonealarm firewall
it will turn your window firewall off and make it easier to use.

How can i install my webcam (microsoft VX-3000) if i lost the CD ?

Hi there,
You can still download the drivers from the links below for your windows
For Windows 7 LifeCam 3.2 32-bit and 64-bit for Windows 7
For Windows XP (32-Bit) LifeCam 3.2 32-bit for Windows XP SP2 or higher (excluding 64-bit)
For Windows XP (64-Bit) LifeCam 2.04 for Windows XP 64-bit
Download the drivers, unplug the camera from the computer and run the setup Lifecam3.22.exe, Install the drivers and follow on-screen instruction, Within the setup it might will prompt you to plug in the camera, connect the camera and the drivers will be loaded automatically and you will need to restart your computer once,
If you require more assistance, feel free to reply to this post
