Hey there speedboy2024, the answer is 768mb, spread over three SDram memory slots. I would try 256/256/128, if you were trying to max. Good Luck!

My p4vmm2 rev.8.1 has only 256mb memory card and 128mb video card, my question is what would be the maximum bytes for memory card and video card can i install. Offcourse the compatible hardware..tnx

Looks like the max is 2 x 184-pin DDR DIMM socket support up to 1 GB, which means you can get 2 512MB DDR266/200 2.5V DDR SDRAM chips.

as far as video cards, it will accept any AGP 4x or lower card. You could also put a PCI video card in it, but AGP is better.

When installing memory in this motherboard do you have to fill all 4 slots?

No, a minimum of 1 memory card is needed for the computer to clear POST and start up.
You can put as many as it can afford. For your computer the maximum memory is 4GB i.e. 4 cards of 1GB each.

What is memory card EliteGroup P4VMM2 V8.1 Motherboard

You will need to install either DDR RAM (DDR 200 or DDR 226) or SDRAM (PC133 or PC100) memory. You cannot install both, you need to choose. The motherboard supports a maximum 2GB and there are two DDR and two PCI slots so 1GB +1GB would be the assumed maximum.

Maximum memory

Hi jim82177

It depends which model of motherboard you are asking about. If you know which board it is then you can check Intel's specifications for your board.

If you are not sure on the model then run a 3rd party tool such as Everest to get the motherboard info.

Does this help?

    Video card

There is no maximum video memory. When you add ram you add ram that can cap off at some point but is not called video memory. It is just computer memory. Sometimes your onboard video will share some of that memory. Older systems dont handle more then a gig 2-3 year old systems general no more then 2 gigs and really new systems can go up to 4 gigs of ram

    Hi zouganeli,

You can install one, two or three modules. Each memory module can hold a maximum capacity of 128 MB of standard SDRAM chips, or 256 MB of registered SDRAM chips so maximum memory capacity is 384 MB of standard SDRAM memory or 768 MB registered SDRAM memory.

    Hope that helps

    Take care,

    I need your help me

You need to upgrade your memory modules to a bigger size, check your motherboard manual for supported memory speeds.

You can also look at your current memory be removeing it from the socket and see what it reads on it. Its either DDR memory or older SDRAM. I beleave your maximum memory is 3 GB
