Question about Sony KP-48S35 48" Rear Projection Television
I Have a Sony model KP57WS500 about 5 years old that has blue and red lines on screen whenever the background is dark. These lines are arched and cover entire screen. Set operation is normal except for these lines. Set has never been serviced. Any ideas on what might be the cause of these lines? Could it indicate set is going to fail? Appreciate your response. Jim Sheehan
Sounds like you are describing retrace lines that could indicate that your CRTs or something in the drive circuits are bad.. Check the resistors on the CRT sockets to see if they are in tolerance. If they are try turning the red and blue screen adjustments down just a little this should take the lines away. You will however be needing service in the not to far future. Turning the screens down should help if the resistors check out. Let me know if you need anything further.
