-   I recently encountered the same problem. The power button flashes constantly, regardless of status (unit "on" or "off" while in cradle or not in cradle).
If I disconnect the USB cable from my computer, then the flashing "green" power button changes to a steady "orange".
After re-connecting the USB cable to the computer, the power putton remains at a steady "orange".
The Power Setting (as I am writing this) indicates that the main battery is at 98% power and charging; the backup battery status is "Normal".
Turning the Axim off, and leaving the unit in the cradle the power button remains a steady orange. Removing it from the cradle, the power button changes to a steady green.
it proably because you have someone massageing you on your msn aka windows messenger that is built in or something maybe check that massage or u need to chrage,check the programs opened if there is a alert or somethign trying ot tell you somethign kk :]
